Ok Admin guru's, im gonna pick your brain and expertise. I work for a local IT firm and alot of our clients are small based businesses and a lot of single customers who simply don't the brain power, time or ability to use indepth spyware removal tools and cleaners other then SpyBot and Adaware...
Woops, my bad. Corrected. Yes, its farking awesome! To test it, I downloaded the full 1.2 BF2 patch which weighs 376 megs and it only took around 7 1/5 minutes!
It was two years ago this Month and nearly to the day that my life changed forever. After years of wishing, praying, begging and pleading with my local phone company, they at long last installed Remote terminals that allowed me to have broadband after 11 years of dialup use when I first started...
Bite me. I spent a good amount of money on my Dell 2405 and I had to go through 5 exchanges till I got one that was perfect. Enjoy your defective monitor if you will, I have higher standards for products purchased with my hard earned cash
Yes, but the throughput is maxed on out at 1920x1080 on a single link DVI. So a 2405 at 1920x1200 in theory is transferring more data then DVI is specced to cary, hence why it may be causing the LAG people have been bitching about.
DVI specs
Copyright protection, or HDCP in this case. DVI actually maxes out at 1920x1200 for bandwith, hence why the 3007 needs a dual DVI connection. DVI will be replaced with a new connector soon which I forget its name.
HDCP support for one thing, being the major one. Likely the removal of S-Video, Component and Composite inputs and possibly VGA as well. Newer and faster panel is also probably to be expected.
You DO realize that was the goal of Dell? Force you to buy one of there TV's for purposes such as that? From a tidbit of info, the 2007 and 2407 will also only have DVI inputs though not confirmed.
And yet Wolf is the same guy who made the 2405 FAQ thread and he's giving LCD's a bad time while he's on a crusade for SED tech which isnt' even out yet? Uhhh huh.......
Viewsonics VP930b is the biggest POS. I"ve never seen an LCD backlight bleed so much. I'll go back to Dell before I buy another Viewsonic LCD.
And I sure as hell aint waiting for SED. Like all new technology, gonna be more expensive and have glitches.
Interesting. In which case, you are basically experiencing the sharpness and clarity that LCD's provide comparison to CRT's, hence you see flaws, color banding, compression ect..ect.. much more. Its an LCD trait, nothing you can do about it.
Your looking at the limiations of the panel made at the time. Likely its a 6bit PN panel which "dithers" or make's up colors as it cannot create the full 16.2 millon color spectrum.
Your also talking about damn near 6-7 old technology, of couse it won't look good by today standards...
Im anxious, but not gonna hold my breath. Lord knows what the initial cost will be and if and when they will actually come along with the ALWAYS present new technology problems and glitches. I'll keep happily enjoying my 2405.
Dell 2405 = 1920x1200
Dell 3007 = 2560x1600
Apple Cinema 30" = 2560x1600
Beyond that, you'd have to get a HDTV to get larger then 30" for the most part.
Cause dell wants you to buy there TV's for that purpose. PC monitors "ONLY" for PC's, TV's ONLY for TV/movie/console watching. Don't like it? Don't buy a Dell. I dunno about you put if im gonna play my PS2, im gonna play it on a widescreen CRT monitor downstairs on the couch with a fluff...
Depending on monitor, you can use S-Video, composite, component or even VGA if an adaper exists. However, due to the higher rez of PC displays, you will get better quality if you use component or VGA inputs. S-video and composite tend to look like ass on a CRT or LCD
