My dream case would a Lian Li PC-V1000 Plus with: 1) ATX/BTX compatible 2) Removable motherboard tray 3) Ability to install motherboard/tray in standard non-inverted position for heatpipe equipped boards 4) Upper chamber 120mm fan option 5) Sleeved cables...

    Building A SLI Rig

I'm about to build a SLI rig and I've been thinking about which cases to use. I'm definately going with an all aluminum case. Probably one from Lian Li or Cooler Master. Right now I'm thinking about using a Lian Li PC-V1000B Plus or a PC-65B Plus. And I'm thinking about using a Cooler Master...

Asus A8N SLI Deluxe w/ XP-120 in Lian Li PC-V1000

Does anyone have this combination? I'm changing cases and I want to use the Lian Li PC-V1000 Plus but I'm not sure if the A8N SLI/XP-120 combination will fit the case. It looks as if it might fit since the XP-120 looks to be flush with the top edge of the motherboard. So if anyone has this...

Title: *Official* - AsusTek A8N32-SLI Deluxe thread

I read somewhere that new nVidia drivers are coming out that allow to run SLI without the little bridge connector. Maybe Asus knew this ahead of time and decided to arrange the slots like that............

    Will it fit.........??

I've been comparing pics of the 2 boards and it looks like the sockets are in different locations. Thew socket on the A8N32 is closer to the middle of the board while the Premium has the socket closer to the edge of the mobo. The socket on the A8N32 is also closer to the DIMM slots and the...

    Will it fit.........??

So I'm thinking about upgrading to the new Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe and an AMD X2 3800+ and I want to use my XP-120 to cool the thing. Problem is that I don't know if the monstrosity known as the XP-120 would fit. From pics that I've seen, it looks like the XP-120's heatpipes would either...

    Uninstalling Thermalright XP-120/XP-90

I hope it's that easy. I'm coming from a Zalman CNPS7000B-CU which has the nicest and easiest install/uninstall I've ever seen.........

    Uninstalling Thermalright XP-120/XP-90

Ok, so I'm thinking of picking up either a Thermalright XP-120 or XP-90. The installation looks relatively simple but the thing I'm worried about is uninstalling the thing. I plan on upgrading from my AMD 64 3200+ to a AMD 64 X2 3800+ on my Asus A8N SLI Deluxe later on. Since the heatsinks...

A8N SLI Premium and XP-90 (Too hot for nf4 chipset?)

Any input from XP-120 users? Or is this an isolated case with XP-90 users??

A8N SLI Premium and XP-90 (Too hot for nf4 chipset?)

What case do you have? Maybe you're not getting suffiecient airflow out the back of your computer?? Do you have one of Lian Li 1000 series cases? I heard thoses don't worj well with the heatpipe cooler on the A*N SLI Premium......

A8N SLI Premium and XP-90 (Too hot for nf4 chipset?)

    Coolermaster Praetorian 730 / 732

Do you notice if the MOSFET heatsink and heatpipe gets hot since it's not being cooled by anything?

    Coolermaster Praetorian 730 / 732

Looking good  I was thinking about upgrading to the Praetoriam 732 and XP-120. I've got a few questions though. 1) How come you didn't have the XP-120 blowing over the heatsink for the heatpipe and MOSFETs? I thought it'll help keep heatsink cool with the XP-120 blow over it...

Zalman says NB47J Northbridge cooler fits A8N-SLI

SWEET!! My ears are saved!! Is your case a Praetorian too?? It looks like one from the front I/O port wires. If it is, there should be plenty of cool air coming in with the stock fans. The 6800GT should be running cooler than the temps you posted. Maybe if you turned the Zalman 90* so...

Zalman says NB47J Northbridge cooler fits A8N-SLI

Can you show me a pic of your setup? I want to see how much clearance there is. And I'm sure it'll help a lot of people with 6800 cards that want to use the Zalman.

Zalman says NB47J Northbridge cooler fits A8N-SLI

I've just switched to a Cooler Master Praetorian so I've got a lot of air going through the case thanks to the 4 fans it came with so I've been thinking about using the Zalman chipset heatsink. I wouldn't have dared to use it in my Wave Master since it doesn't have the air flow of the...

Zalman says NB47J Northbridge cooler fits A8N-SLI

It seems that the Zalman ZM-NB47J won't fit with a 6800GT From Skinner's pics. The 6800GT has another small heatsink near the end of the card and the little capacitors or whatever which look like they would hit the ZM-NB47J.

Need Help Looking For A PSU For A8N-SLI

I've got a CoolerMaster Wave Master with no window so its absolutely pointless but that doesn't matter since I don't like the lights anyways. Based on the requirements from Asus on a 6800GT SLI the Modstream 450W seems like it'll work just fine I hope. I'm going to run a single 6600GT in the...

Need Help Looking For A PSU For A8N-SLI

LOL...thanks for the review on the Modstream. Now I know I'm not the only one that doesn't like all the lights. It's also kind of ironic, the Asus 6800GTs I plan to get when they come out has blue fans as well........ The only reason I'm getting the Modstream is that it's modular. I don't...

Need Help Looking For A PSU For A8N-SLI

I'm skeptical about little known brands like Athenapower. What do you think about the OCZ Modstream 450W, Antec True480 or Antec True550? And if I use a 20-24pin adaptor, should I be worried?

Need Help Looking For A PSU For A8N-SLI

Would the Antec True550 EPS12V work with the A8N? I thought server PSUs and ATX2.0 PSUs are different even though they're both 24-pin. As of right now, I'm thinking about going with the OCZ Modstream 450W even though its got the stupid LED fan in it. Can someone with a Modstream tell me how...

Need Help Looking For A PSU For A8N-SLI

If I remove them, I'd have to open up the PSU and void the warranty. Not to mention I'm a noob, this is only the third computer I've built and I don't want to screw anything up.

Need Help Looking For A PSU For A8N-SLI

I've been having a hard time looking for a PSU for the A8N-SLI. I was originally going to go with an Antec Neopower but then I saw the post about how dual rail PSUs are bad for the A8N. So, for the past three days I've been looking for a PSU that'll meet my requirements and the board's...
