I know the 8800GT is an awesomely priced card, but should I wait and see what ATI/AMD offers? I know if I wait the 8800GT might be out of stock for a while, do you guys think that ATI will be able to compete with the 8800GT?
Is it normal for one core to be slower than the other three? I know its usual for the temps to differ but one of my cores is consistently finishing tests 1+ minutes later than the other cores.
After spending a few days messing around to get my vista stable, I decided to give up and go back to xp, which I thought would be much easier to install. No luck, now my computer is randomly restarting without a bsod, or crashing with a STOP: 0x0000000A error. My ram went overnight on memtest...
Already did a bunch of what the google searched sites told me to do, still doesnt work. I guess I just have to disable sound driver and live without sound until a fix comes out.
My system specs are:

I was looking online for the 180's specs when I noticed there were two models. Are the models different in any way? If they are, do both models come in two colors?
Thanks in advance
I know its F11, it says so on the boot screen. I've tried every F key there is anyways. I've tried it with 2 different keyboards so I dont think thats the problem. The F10 button works fine for entering setup. The only problem is that nothing happens when I try to enter the recovery menu.
I see that the hp recovery option is available when I boot up. But for some reason when I press F11, nothing happens. I know that the keyboard works because the other keys work.
I have an HP computer that came with Vista pre-installed, so it didn't come with a Vista DVD. I screwed up the MBR by trying to dual boot XP. Is there any way to fix the Vista MBR without using the DVD?
When I use my vista dvd on my computer it works perfectly fine. But when I use it on my brother's HP computer, after the press any button to boot from dvd, it give me the error: the file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum. Anybody know what's...
I got a new Core 2 Duo E4300, but honestly I dont notice that much of a speed increase in comparison with my old Sempron 1800+. The two have the same clock speed but since the C2D has two processors shouldnt it be twice as fast? Is there something I have to do the make sure I get the most out...
Whenever I turn on my computer it goes to the Windows did not start successfully screen and gives me the options: Safe Mode, Safe Mode w/ Networking, Safe Mode w/ Command Prompt, Last Known Good Configuration, and Start Windows Normally. No matter which option I choose it just restarts the...
My brother's computer just randomly started freezing erratically. It'll run fine for about half and hour and just freeze. It wont respond to anything, and I have to hard reboot it. Lately it's been giving out hard drive read errors during boot before it loads the OS. Usually if I just reboot...
I tried that but it give me the error:
An error occurred when applying security information to:
folder im trying to edit
Access is denied
BTW I'm using Vista if that matters.
Ok I just took my brother's hard drive out of his computer and into mine because it was messed up and I needed to backup some of the files. The problem is I need permission to copy over all of the files. Even when I click allow it wont let me do it.
I turned on my computer and I got this error message:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
<Windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe.
Please re-install a copy of the above file.
I have a windows xp cd but I dont know exactly how to go about re-installing a...
I've been meaning to upgrade. Usually I can only upgrade one part of my computer at a time due to budget. Hence 512 mb of RAM. If I do buy new RAM and install it, will Vista automatically detect it and allow me to use Aero?
I have a C2D E4300 and a Radeon 9200 so my CPU and GFX card have no problem with Aero, but I only have 512 mb of RAM. Is there any way I could force Vista to use Aero?
Its enabled in the BIOS and the speaker icon is in the system tray. I really hope that its not just broken. I've already had to exchange this model of motherboard once.
I found something on microsoft.com that seems to fit my problem but I dont know how to download it...
I have integrated audio on my ECS P4800PRO-M motherboard and I've installed all the audio drivers but there still isnt any sound. I've tried multiple speakers and headphones so I know its something to do with the motherboard. Anybody know what could be going on?
The 12V connector is connected but I dont think thats the problem. A quick search on the ECS website revealed to me that only the latest BIOS firmware supports the E4300. The problem is I cant update the BIOS if I cant get it to POST. Would the mobo be able to run without the CPU just enough...
I figured out that the clicking was coming out of the hard drive and a light flashes every time it clicks. Everything seems to be connected properly. I tried without the gfx card but that didnt work either.
Just got a new CPU and motherboard so I wanted to install it in my computer. The CPU is a Core 2 Duo E4300 and the motherboard is a ECS P4M800PRO-M. I believe I connected everything correctly but when I power on, nothing is displayed on the monitor. I've tried connecting the monitor to the...
The CD drive on my computer is old and cheap so now its not reading very reliably. I´m trying to install Windows XP onto a clean hard drive but every time some file ends up being corrupted because the CD drive cant read it correctly. Is there any way to install without a CD drive? I have an...
Yeah I tried setting everything to default and taking out everything but the necessities but still no luck.
What do you mean by "ran a cleaner" is that some software or did you actually physically clean out the drive?
Ok, so I tried reinstalling Windows AGAIN, to try to fix the corruption.
Now it shows the boot screen very briefly.
Then goes to a screen that says:
Setup is restarting.................
Then it flashes a teal-blue screen.
Then it gives me this error
STOP: c000021a {Fatal System...
