    I wish it were that easy to tell, but unfortunately both steppings have the same OEM and box order codes. I hope you're right! I'll post results when I get it on Fri.

    The stepping is the revision of the processor. Later steppings are newer and more likely to reach a high overclock. Was it a retail (boxed) processor, or OEM (cpu only)? And where did you buy it from?

    Just ordered a boxed Celeron D 320 2.4GHz s478 from Newegg. I am anxious to know whether this will likely be C0 or D0 stepping. Has anyone bought a retail Cel D from there lately?
