please give me your Oced P4 cpu (478 pin) speed.

My previous CPU was a 2.4C and I had it as high as 3.0 in an Asus P4P800 I think my my memory (2x512 Kingston ValueRAM PC3200) was keeping me down because towards the end I kept getting random reboots and I coudln't get it stable past 3.1

    CPU/Motherboard help

I don't own a DFI Ultra-D, but I've heard that it's one of the favorite boards for Overclockers right now. If you don't plan on overclocking, could you perhaps save a little bit of money by buying a slightly cheaper board?

Clean UP My case wires HAD a CPU TEMP Drop 2'

I ran out of zip ties when I was arranging my cables and I used small rubber bands instead. It kinda looks ghetto, but they get the job done. I hate messy cables whether it'd be inside the case or outside power cables.

How long you think AMD 939 socket going to last?

Anything over a year is good enough for me, as I'm planning on building an AMD Venice/Winchester gaming rig in the near future.

    3.4GHz LGA775 Overheating & Underclocking Issues

To change the multiplier on BIOS, is the setting to change it "Ratio CMOS Setting"? I can change that value and above that, option "Ratio Actual Value" is set to 14. EDIT: Nevermind. I found out that's not it.

    3.4GHz LGA775 Overheating & Underclocking Issues

I don't know why CPU-Z shows my VCore as 1.559. Both PC Probe and AiBooster show the voltage between 1.38 and 1.42

    3.4GHz LGA775 Overheating & Underclocking Issues

I have 2 extra 120mm Panaflo case fans. I'm gonna try to put one on the clear side panel of my case blowing in right over the HSF. Hopefully that will help.

I already have it hosted on ImageShack, but I can't find the "img" option on the reply window. I'll just do it this way: Image Link

    3.4GHz LGA775 Overheating & Underclocking Issues

Running WCPUID does not list the CPU as an ES. I took a screenshot of CPU-Z & WCPUID side by side but I can't figure out how to insert a picture into this board. Anyways, I was thinking in getting a retail 630. I hope my Asus P5GDC-Deluxe can support that CPU. I'll have to check the mobo...

    3.4GHz LGA775 Overheating & Underclocking Issues

My CPU now idles at 42 degrees. It's getting closer to the 30's which is where I want to have it. I decided to sell it and just buy a retail Prescott. That way I won't have that tought in the back of my mind of whether it's an ES or not and if it's causing me problems. I don't need an ES if it...

    3.4GHz LGA775 Overheating & Underclocking Issues

Bummer! I'm also asking around in 2 other boards at the moment, and I think the consensus is pretty much to try a better/newer HSF. My case has good enough air case in my opinion. I have the Thermaltake SViking VA400BWS. I use SATA drives, so there are no big cables blocking the air and I also...

    3.4GHz LGA775 Overheating & Underclocking Issues

Okay, I ran TMPGenc and prime95 at the same time for about 5 minutes so far and the CPU load was at 100%. The CPU temp ranged between 62-64 during those 5 minutes. I also ran Throttlewatch at the same time and the TM1 Throttling never went up. Should I run them longer or is that good enough to...

    3.4GHz LGA775 Overheating & Underclocking Issues

If my chip turns out to really be an ES, I might consider selling it and getting a new Prescott along with a better HSF.

    3.4GHz LGA775 Overheating & Underclocking Issues

Really? I guess my quest for cooling down my CPU will have to continue. I ran Throttlewatch for about 35 minutes with a CPU load of about 45-65% and the Throttling never went up. It stayed at 0% the whole time. My CPU temperatures also never went past 61 degrees. The BIOS revision on my mobo is...

    3.4GHz LGA775 Overheating & Underclocking Issues

Thanks for all the advice so far. I already removed the HSF for the second time and made sure it was making good contact. I applied AS5 again and now it idles between 44-47. I seemed to have put a little too much AS5 the previous time, but I'd still like to get those idle temps lower. I haven't...
