Here is my scenerio and let me know how I can test to pinpoint what this is.
My computer is stable 98% of the time. Gaming, especially. It never freezes or anything during gaming.
However, every once in a while (roughly days in between), my computer will freeze on basic things. Like...
I have an ultra xconnect 500w.
I did the original install with this motherboard, however during testing of things I swapped the mobo and such out numerous times. So hopefully this is the problem. Driver conflicts somewhere. Hopefully after the new install I will be good to go. If not, I...
This is just a generic question but I thought I would try anyways.
My current system seems pretty stable. But once in awhile, usually days apart it will freeze for no apparent reason. Not gaming, just surfing the web for instance. And its always a freeze upon the loading of a site...
I did a bit more searching and came to this:
http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/server/pae/default.mspx
So does this mean, its due to the system being a 64 bit system?
My system properties shows something I never saw before and do not know what it means. It says "Physical Address Extension". What does this mean?
Here is a sshot:
I searched google and only found things pertaining to 4g of ram in win2000 and such. So I don't understand. Any...
Nope no post screen, etc. All blank until windows loads. As soon as windows loads the video turns on. However after more and more testing I have found the issue.
I just took out another motherboard and plugged it in with one piece of the memory. It all booted fine, etc. Post displays...
Update on where we stand.
No matter what memory is, no matter what slot its in, and no matter how few or many sticks I put in the issue is still there.
Again to reiterate here is what happens. I turn on the pc. The screen is black. I wait and wait and I hear the windows logon start and...
I did that too. Thats what I meant when I said I put the originals back in.
I built this PC. No brand.
I am seeing that the memory upgrade caused this somehow. But I cannot understand how. And more so, why when the old memory is put back in it does not come back.
And again, when...
I think its a problem with ie caused by spyware/adware. Uninstall IE and reinstall it. Or as others said grab firefox. If AIM works you never lost internet connection and therefore its specific to IE and other programs that use the same stuff.
Hey all.
Today I replaced two PC2700 DDR Ram sticks with three PC3200 DDR and when I booted my screen was blank. So I instantly shut down and put the original memory back in. Now here is where it gets confusing.
Upon boot up the screen is black and says nothing to display. But if you...
No luck after this either. I am guessing the board is just dead and am going to contact MSI now for an RMA.
Sucks but thats life. Is there anything else I could try?
Do I I turn the computer on after I put it on pins 2-3? Then turn it off and do the reverse?
Also I just tested with an old motherboard and everything worked as it should. Video displayed, etc. So its definitely something with the motherboard. Hopefully the cmos thing helps, if not do...
Ok I have now tried it with a different powersupply. A 400w Raidmax. Same result. Power on but screen is black. Again tried with two different video cards.
Can I remove the battery from the motherboard and replace it to get it to reset? Or is this a bad idea? Is it obvious at this...
Sounds like a good idea. I have another PSU I can try and will try that tonight immediately. But yes, for the other two ideas I can't do them yet as I have no display.
Thanks again for any help. I appreciate it!
THanks for the reply
1. Ultra Xconnect 500w
2. I have no idea? Everything is set at factory settins in the bios
3. YEs both are connected. ANd on the second video card there is no plug.
4. Again, factory settings in bios other then turning off fast write
5. None.
6. 1 HD the 160g...
OK guys. My brand new pc just took a sh!t. I have troubleshooted some basics and am getting nowhere!
Here is what has been happening. From day one (A couple weeks ago this is a fresh build with all brand new hardware) I had weird video problems off and on. Sometimes I would turn the comp on...
Hey all.
My current system is a AMD 2400+ XP. With 1g of mismatched memory. 1x512 of PC2100 and 1x512of PC2700 DDR.
I am looking to upgrade to AMD AThlon64 3000+ with 1g of PC3200 DDR.
My question is, is this worth it? Or should I just stay where I am at?
Thanks
