Howdy,
How do the illustrious members of this forum keep their MacBook Pro video drivers up-to-date? I have the 2.4GHz with the nVidia GeForce 8600M GT. I was trying to use this computer to replace about three other computers, including my old WinXP desktop for gaming. However I find that the...
Nice. To defend RHCP you lay down an ignorant rant against rap. Way to spread the love guy. Personally you couldn't pay me to go to this show but that has nothing to do with rap, rock, or any dubious comparison thereof.
The 1905fp is horrible for gaming. Really bad ghosting. See the replies on this thread for more first-hand user experience. I sold my 1905FP and got the 2001FP in it's place. 2001fp is a much, much better monitor.
Heard this on NPR this morning, the IRS is giving away tax filing software in an effort to get people to file electronically.
IRS Software Index
You still have to pay for State tax functionality.
[edit] The only gotcha is that it seems like they are all online filing methods vs...
This monitor has really bad ghosting, making it nigh-unusable for gaming. Please see this thread. Just dont want people to make the same mistake I did!
This monitor is horrible for gaming. Despite the quoted refresh of 20ms, there was horrible ghosting on this monitor, much worse than on an older 25ms-rated Samsung I had. Painfully obvious in Half-Life 2, very noticable in Doom 3. Gamers beware! Seemed OK for DVDs though.
I live in the Bay Area and have purchased from Central Computer in-store. I like their stores, selection, and prices, but have no experience with their customer service. They seem fairly reputable to me.
Holy crap Jagg you almost gave me a heart attack. From Dell's website on the 1905FP:
"Port(s) Total ( Free ) / Connector Type: 15-pin D-subminiature (blue) / DVI-D (white) / 4 x USB 2.0"
I am kind of afraid. I have used the 1901FP. and that is what is always mentioned on here or FW. Now it seems to be gone, and this new model shows up. No reviews. Well I bought it anyway. Caution be damned. But if I hear something bad about it I'll cancel the order and probably get the...
They have two different panel manufacturers. The 2001FP has a much better LCD panel, beyond just the fact that it is 16ms response time vs. the 1901's 25ms. See anandtech's review.
Arg... Maybe this isnt the place but I am so pissed at Overstock. Ordered a refurbed Logitech GT4 Steering Wheel for $75. They sent a joystick. In the time it took for them to get the returned joystick and reprocess the wheel order, it had gone out of stock and they just issued a refund. I...
One might say it was even more rude to remove a feature crucial to one's use of the site. It was kind of like Huffy came in the middle of the night and upgraded my bike by removing the front tire. Anyway thanks for the new link cyberia!
In my house we have tried plugging in a different Logitech steering wheel to the XBox via a USB-to-XBoxController cable... didn't work at all. Nor could we find any info on how to make it work. If you find out, let me know!
Anubis: the thread sorter sorts by the original topic's post date. AT sorts by most recent replied-to thread by default.
Sorting by original post date is very useful in FS/T and HD, although personally I prefer it in all of the categories. It makes the site consistent. The conversations I...

I am surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but this tool makes AT worth using again. I just wanted to thank the authors for their work on this project.
Something I would like to point out to the Fusetalk developers. If Fusetalk had a sort by topic post date, I...
I'm sorry, why would these not be dual-channel compatible? There is nothing special about dual-channel memory. Unless you mean, is this a dual channel pack of 2 256MB sticks, in which case no it is one 512MB stick, you would have to buy two for dual channel. Unless I am missing something?
The one thing the Sonata has on this case is the better front-panel options. The Sonata has the 2 usb, plus the firewire and the audio jacks. This case just has the 2 usb. No big deal if you dont use them though. Personally I like the Sonata. I like that the fan mount is in front of the...
I lived in Spain last year, with my gf who was in study abroad. We watched the Euro go from $.93 to $1.18. It was stunning when it broke $1.20 a while ago and it doesn't seem to be stabilizing at all. This isn't the political discussion board so I will stop here.
Seems unlikely, but you never know. Usually on a big game like this a bunch of noise is made when the disc for the game goes gold... meaning they create master copies for mass distribution. Haven't heard anything about it yet. But hey maybe they are just really tight-lipped over at iD. Good...
Wow, the AT Forums are useful again... sort of. More useful anyway. Thanks very much for the link! Do you know if that was written as a direct result of the currently devolved FuseTalk?
Alright I have one conspiracy theory I probably shouldn't even voice, and frankly this again seems like it would be trivial to fix with a bit of smart coding. I noticed in the old version that "Stickies" were only sticky in the Sort By Last Reply mode. So Sort by Topic Date never showed any of...
Well I am guessing that they did a major rewrite of the back-end code for this version. They might have changed how the database works for their new multilingual capabilities, which would mean developing new queries to extract and display the data. I have written in ColdFusion and PHP quite a...
Kyteland, consider it the other way. What if Fusetalk just swapped-- took out the "Ordered by Newest Reply" and swapped it with "Ordered by Original Post Date." I'll agree the anger level is a little high in this thread, but imagine if what the majority of people preferred was removed... the...
Firezilla works great. Mozfox isn't bad either. Erm I mean if you are a power web user you should definitely use Mozilla, quite a few user problems (font size, yellow spacing bar) have been eliminated using Mozilla's native features. Firefox has the same features but a easier-to-use interface.
Probably supposed to say "60.0". For some reason, on sites like Best Buy that is how Seagate hard drives were listed. Kind of strange since 60 GB is an approximation to begin with.
Anyway I'll drop it now and be patient. A thought occurs to me though, you might consider doing a FAQ: Forum Changes sticky that includes issues such as this and the "No Divider Bar" Mozilla userchrome.css "fix" (I thought that was pretty clever). I believe there was similar issue to this...
Jason, I thought that might be the case vis-a-vis your involvement with FuseTalk. However I was not sure.
No one is asking you to hack up the code. However, you have to admit this change, on the surface, seems trivial. Obviously I know nothing of your db structure and so it must be more...
Well then let's take this to the next step. Despite your claims to the contrary, these boards are significantly less navigable after the upgrade. I for the most part have avoided the other Hot Deal style boards primarily because of their lack of
"Sort By Original Post Date" option. I am...
