    Problem solved thanks to the suggestion by Ioo. I removed the Nvidia IDE drivers and used the Windows native drivers and thats all it took. Now that I've been looking I see a bunch of posts re. some of the Nvidia NForce drivers. Anyway, thanks for the help!!
