DEAD - Free Microsoft Software for attending seminar

Wow, 5 locations in California, 1 in Texas. That makes sense. I just went to Houston, I'm not driving to Dallas for another event. Hey, Microsoft. Have you ever heard of a little town called Austin? Your buddy Dell is there. Plus you have a game testing center, and Xbox support is done...

    24" Westinghouse L2410NM Widescreen LCD Monitor (1920 x 1200 resolution, HDMI)

If you are lucky enough to live in Austin you can pick them up at the Sam's South on interstate 35. No other ones have them. I'm grabbing mine tomorrow. My 42" Westinghouses have taken constant gaming and TV for well over a year, and $299 is cheap. I have to go to Sam's anyway.

__________IC Diamond 7... Anyone used it yet?__________

5F better actually. Typo. Anyway, we also used it on some dead 3 red lighted Xbox 360s at Tek Republik. It seemed to work well with those. We have not have them come back in dead again. Certainly the fact that it reaches top cooling performance quickly helps in the 360 versus the Artic...

First Unreal Engine 3 GPU Performance Comparison

SCDA is Unreal Engine 2, which is why we did not do performance tests of it. One of the major issues we have had during our testing is the exclusion of a usable timedemo feature. Timedemo functionality has been included in previous generations of Splinter Cell, and even the readme file...

    Dell buys Alienware

They have to offer AMD still, or there goes sales to Voodoo and Falcon. Unless Conroe is that amazing that they can get by without AMD. That is a big if at this point.

Quake 4 1.05 dual core GeForce performance fix

I'll contact a mod and let them know how you treat readers of anandtech since 1996. better yet I'll probably see Anand, or one of his staffers at CES so we can laugh about it there.

Quake 4 1.05 dual core GeForce performance fix

You can grab the registry fix info here if you are using Quake 4 version 1.05 for dual core performance enhancements with a GeForce powered graphics card with the 80 series drivers version 81.84 and beyond. It has been confirmed with Nvidia that there is a conflict that lowers performance...

Quake 4 1.05 beta dual core patch benchmarks

where? i tried multiple systems, and believe it or not I've been testing quake since 96. it is quite possible due to the hardware configuration/drivers. calling it wrong or incorrect without any basis for that is incorrect. did you even read it or did you just look at the graph?

didn't crash single player when we tested it out. didn't try multiplayer though. if you are a sniper you get extra view distance. i think it is worth doing if you dual boot.

Quake 4 1.05 beta dual core patch benchmarks

http://www.amdzone.com/modules.php?op=m...index&req=viewarticle&artid=216&page=1 The patch seems slower than 1.04, and enabling SMP support slows it again in our Athlon 64 testing. This could very well be an Intel only benefit.

Dell really going AMD this time?

Having worked up the road at Dell I'm a bit skeptical, but this is the most interesting story I've heard about it in some time. It beats the crap out of the Dell selling AMD CPU story that happens at least once every year. The word is Dell is asking Asus, Quanta, and Hon Hai to get in with...

    Asus A8R-MVP Review@AMDZone

Then you just stick a PCI E card of any type in I suppose. Anyhow, once we have a couple of more CrossFire boards we will bust out full benchmarks, and do in depth overclocking. Clearly Asus did not give it top billing in the lineup as DFI did. Of course DFI has far fewer boards to...

    CrossFire vs SLI @ AMDZone

We ran at 1024, 1280, and 1600, which I think is quite reasonable. I'm seeing limited numbers of guys going 23 or 24 inch widescreen, but no one lugs a huge CRT with 2048X1536 to a lan. There might be a few of them keeping those suckers at home. You have to have a 20" LCD for 1600X1200, and...

    CrossFire vs SLI @ AMDZone

1024X768 is insane? I was doing that with my Canopus Pure 3D 2s in SLI how many years ago? I had my 1600X1200 Sony 19" back then too. There is a clear switch to LCDs for gaming, and 1280X1024 is the ideal resolution for 17" and 19" LCDs. How do I know? 27 lan parties since 2003 we have run...

    CrossFire vs SLI @ AMDZone

So 16 lanes vs 32 lanes, and the poor performance of the default modes for opengl and direct3d, and the lack of support out of the box for crossfire in quake 4 and fear isn't anything? I would say it is. Will it float? Is that anything?

Gamingphreek, we are adding additional benchmarks, and are benchmarking as fast as is possible. Not a good review. I don't think that is a fair implication. Wait a minute. Single 7800gt and x850xt numbers with lost coast. These will be updated as well...
