    USB switch for keyboard/mouse?

Has anyone ever used one of these as a switch for a keyboard/mouse (I have a USB keyboard with a built-in hub)? I don't need video switching (its built in to my monitor), and this appears to be a good option. Any potential problems? Thanks for the input.

    Belkin UPS?

I'm looking to purchase a UPS, and I saw these Belkin UPSes for sale (starting tomorrow) at OfficeMax for $40. Anyone use one of these before? My other UPS is a APC, but much to my chagrin, I can't find one on sale (much less a 500VA one for $40). Oh, and for the record, I was going to buy...

Newbie question: print server + hub?

I'm a networking newbie, and through judicious use of this forum (and others), I've gotten my wireless router set up with my two desktops (wired) and notebook (wireless--with MAC filtering and WEP). Thanks for all the help! One question, though: I've considered getting a print server, but I...

    Dell i600m and D600 accessories...

Does anyone know the specifics on the accessories for the "new" notebooks. I know my i600m (which came Tuesday) has a different AC adapter than is advertised in Dell S&P (the plug is round, and it has the "very neat idea" rubber cable attachment). Also, it will obviously use a different...

    ATi Radeon 9000 AIW?

Any word on the AIW version of the 9000 Pro? Evidently, its already out in Europe--or nearly so. A review at Hexus.net has the 9000 Pro AIW at 275/275MHz, and performing on par with the standard version. Personally, I have been hoping ATI would do something like this..... now if we can only...

    Target Linens - 30% off B&M

I realize this is a "computer" forum... but some of you MUST have houses and apartments that you have to furnish. Target has LOTS of towels, sheet sets, curtains, bathroom sets for 30% (or more for particular styles) off in the store. There are a VERY few lines that weren't marked down--so...

    Socket 370 recommendation

I'm building a system from several components I managed to pick up at "fire sale" prices (the first four below were obtained for less than $150)... its based on: Intel Socket 370 motherboard (Tualatin capable) D815EEA2LU (integrated LAN, sound, video) 512MB of PC133 Seagate Barracuda IV 40GB...

Athlon XP TBreds lower than 2200?

At one point in time I read that AMD was going to start producing lower spec-ed Athlons with the T-Bred core. Newegg briefly had some XP1700+ (supposedly TBred) for $75.... and there's a discrete jump from the 2100+ (palamino) and the 2200+ (tbred) in price. I'm going to make a SFF Athlon...

    Micro ATX cases?

A question for ATers: I'm making myself a "budget" PC for my bedroom since the P4 2.26 I put together in May has been relegated to doing 24 hour FE runs most days. I very much like Anand's idea in the current article of going with an XP1600+ in an Asus A7N266-VM--lots of good built in...

    Help! R8500 with DVI-D?!?

I recently ordered an ATI R8500 (64MB, 275/275MHz) bulk/OEM from an online vendor. In an attempt to hook up both of my 19" monitors, I found that the DVI port is apparently DVI-D (it doesn't have the "slot" and four pins on the side that are on DVI-I)--and therefore is of no use to me. The...

    Keyboard?

Hey y'all... I'm a newbie who JUST built my first system.... and I'm looking for one of the most important, yet most overlooked parts... a keyboard. Any recommendations? I was thinking of getting one of the Antec Win98 keyboards (I think Alienware uses them)... any other recommendations? I'd...

    Warm: Panaflo L1A: $5 or 5/$23

There are better prices out there on occasion... but these already have 3 pin tails on them (and they'll sell you a 3 to 4pin adapter for $0.89). link Also, check out their specials--they vary from time to time... I got a OCSystem modified ATI 8500 (275/275!) for $120 not to long ago.
