Another wild azzed stab.... perhaps your OC has hosed up your AGP frequency. Check your AGP frequency in your bios... sometimes it is hard set (ie 66mhz)... or it may be a clock ratio (ie 2/3). Try putting your CPU back to the normal clock & multiplier for a test.
Brutally stupid question...
AMD2500
1GB PC2700
Epox 8RDA+ <<-- that is likely it... I had everything else unhooked
some CD burner
some 80gb HD
Nothing in the PCI slots.
I tried 2 different 400W power supplies... as I mentioned one causes a far quieter tone than the other.
I am also wondering if the ground on...
I have all of those ENABLED on my new unlocked 6800... with quality set to high. Getting about 9300 on 3dMark03 without any tweaking on an AMD2500... your system should be at least meeting that with your overclocked cpu.
Are your mobo drivers installed & current... such as the AGP driver...
At this point I am certain it has little to do with the available wattage of a given power supply. I tried 3 power supplies with nothing attached other than the mobo & 6800. Differing loudness on the alarm is the only result... one blaring loud, one medium loud, and the other a whipser...
Very interesting. Exactly the same config I have... eVGA 6800NU and Epox 8RDA+.
As I mentioned, my tone is now somewhat quiet now that I swapped PSUs... but is still there. A grounding issue perhaps?
Later today I plan to cover up the 6800's speaker with a piece of duct tape... that...
Just swapped in a replacement 400w supply for the other 400w supply.
Tone has changed. It is still there, but it 1/20th of the volume. One cannot hear it with the case on.
So... deciding whether to RMA the 6800.
Hmmm... this one unlocked with ease with no artifacts. But if I RMA it...
I am having exactly the same issue.
When I plug the power supply into the wall, the speaker on my new 6800 emits a constant LOUD tone, but only when the PC is powered off.
The PC powers on fine... the tone from the 6800 speaker stops. It ran just fine (without any tone) all evening. But...
Really? I have been holding off on ordering due to the 'call for availability' message.
Well... based on your statement I will give it a shot. Just ordered. Thx!
Never got into Gundam for that very reason.
Was left saying 'wtf... that is it?' after the original Evangelion ending. The ending on the two movies was somewhat superior, imo.
On a side anime note, wtf is 'Super Milk Chan' on adult swim? I expect to doze off to something amusing like...
Ok. If I wrap a cat5 around my b1tch mother-in-law's neck and hang her from one of the trees, with a cantenna duct-taped to her skull, think that would help? ;)
Hello all.
I am getting ready to break ground on my new house. On the exact opposite side of the golf course lives my father-in-law. We have been tossing about the idea of trying to share my internet connection via wireless. Distance is 1800-2000ft.
Any thoughts as to an antenna config...
This is rather amusing. When a company folds, they generally must send out a notice to potential creditors. I suppose everybody who had some $$$ on account received this (I did.. $7... wooo).
Do remember... they went under because they expended their funding. Try not to hold your breath...
Wow...this is profitable, but I must wait to switch back. I signed up for MCI via the web and was one of the jillion who did not get the Amazon GC in the mail. When I called to complain, they credited my account $150 instead of send me the GC. But then behold... a few days ago I received the...
The tales I heard about the install are either great or horrible. Mine went fine... at sign-up time they suggested I let them install on a Saturday. The installer called to say he would be an hour late, then spent two hours hooking up receivers on opposite sides of the house.
About the only...
I took advantage of this a few months ago. I believe a number of employees posted both here and on FatWallet with the necessary details. Fine deal... hated my cable company.
Mine arrived about a week ago. Not a clue what I am going to do with it. I think back across my years and cannot come up with a single instance where I needed a drill press. This nearly completes my collection of sub-par no-name tools.
I suppose I can use it as shelving. The top is flat...
Hehehe... I thought ChemWiz was BSing us about being hit so many times in one day. So I downloaded and installed ZoneAlarm about twenty minutes ago. Already 4 alerts... some weed port-scanning my rig.
Jumping on this deal now. Thx all.
VPN works fine across these, right?
Had a pretty good experience with OurHouse today... my wife picked up one of those 18v cordless tool kits for Christmas... drill/saw/sander. They mistakenly sent just a 24v drill. When she called they told her they already realized their mistake and gave her the tracking number for the correct...
Sweet! Won one. Quite cool of them.
Another present for my daughter... Will help offset my wife's criticism of my other gift selections... 'What is a first grade girl going to do with an SMC Barricade Router? Are you sure she needs another stick of RAM? She has enough software already...
I took advantage of this deal about two weeks ago. Two receivers shipped & installed for $141. Installer spent about three hours at my house on a Saturday morning. The number you call is dedicated to this program... no hassles... extremely polite... suggested weekend install. Everything...
