Oh that's odd. I work at the CC in Novi, MI. I sold 4 of those Acer's last night and they were all in brown boxes. Hehe, somebody's going to get fired for handing out the wrong laptops :P

It's basically putting poster tak in the both cups. It supposedly helps the harsh highs and boosts the midbass.
I got mine yesterday and right off the bat, the low bass is just amazing. The highs are kinda harsh, but I still have about 290 hours of burn-in to go. I'll probably do the blu-tak mod sometime soon too.
The coupon isn't working for me:
"Limit: one digital coupon per person. Coupon cannot be replaced if lost or deleted. Only valid to customers who have received the e-mail, $200.00 maximum spend may be applied, up to a $20.00 coupon value, not compatible with Affiliate program"
I dunno, isn't there almost no performance difference between the 128MB and the 256MB version? I mean, if there is no difference in benchmarks, then why not go with the MSI 128MB which is cheaper and is automatically recognized as an XT? You can get one at gameve.com for 193 I believe...
I am using reforce, yes but everything is either locked to 75Hz or 60Hz. Safe Mode and VGA mode boots me up with 85Hz. Yeah i was just thinking that it wouldn't be normal to have safe mode and vga mode at such a high refresh rate....hmm maybe during one of those uninstalls, i screwed something...
I dont have the luxury of having a spare CRT monitor lying around when I move into my dorm. Most of the ppl in the dorm will only have laptops....Let me ask you this...How do LAPTOP users deal with this problem?
I got one from microcenter and flashed mine with the 9800XT bios from Rojakpot and 4 pipelines magically disappeared the next day. No idea how it happened.
I have a 17" Benq FP791 LCD which has a max refreshrate of 75Hz as does most LCD monitors. My problem is that I can't get into safe mode in winxp or vga mode without the monitor saying OUT OF RANGE. They both use 85hz..which is too high for my LCD. Luckily, I have a CRt i can use to plug in and...

if it makes everyone happy, i have decided to not return it and commit "fraud". since there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. reformatting and reinstalling it shows that it is still a radeon 9800pro.
I have one and it was working for a while, but now i can't even get it to install correctly. I tried reformatting and then following the instructions on the site, but when it goes to the Audio Capture driver, it doesn't install a driver.
I recently bought a 256bit ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB with the R360 core and the 2.5ns Hynix mem. It worked fine, and RivaTurner showed 8x1 pipelines. I then flashed it to a ATI 9800XT 256mb 2.5hynix bios. Everything was working fine. After a day or two, i turned on the computer and the drivers...
Yeah, I asked the guy about that. He said that it can be immediately applied towards my purchase. He also said that since I did not instantly qualify, I can not get the 50 dollar certificate even if they qualify me later.
40min drive to the Madison Heights, MI Microcenter today. I applied for their credit card but they said that they couldn't instantly approve me, so that I do not qualify for the 50 dollar discount :( And since it was such a long drive, it didnt feel right just leaving empty-handed. So I bought...
