Hey I was just wondering if any Sabertooth owners got their pci x1 slot 1 (top most slot) to work. If you search around you will find that no one can get that slot to work with no other cards in the system and doing all the proper bios settings. (Pci x16 3 to x1 mode and disable esata...
I'm about to add a second Gtx 780 to my system for sli. My first card is older and is an nvidia reference design Rev a card (according to GPU-Z vga bios 80.10). The second card is the same brand and card except its rev b (vga bios 80.80). Is anyone running a mixed revision sli with no issues...
I just replaced an Creative X-Fi soundcard with a new Recon3D card. Both cards have an internal HDA (High Definition Audio) connector but I cannot get the Recon to detect the front mic. The audio works and is detected when plugged in but not the mic. It worked fine on the X-Fi and I checked...
#1 Asus P3B-F -- Pentium 3, PC100 Memory, 4x AGP and unbreakable
#2 Asus K8N-E -- Socket 754 AMD 64 nForce 3 based that runs fast and cool.
#3 Asus K8N-SLI Deluxe -- Has not proven itself yet. Time will tell.
I have had the Asus for about 6 months now and had no problems. It's stable and overclocks decently. If you want extreme overclocking then DFI is the way to go. The Asus has been out the longest and has had many (not all) of the kinks worked out with several bios updates. All three are great...
I have been using it for about 2 weeks with my A8N-SLi Deluxe and have had no problems. It replaced an antec true 550 and seems to be a little tighter on the voltages actually.
I too am interested in adding a seagate 7200.8 drive. I am having trouble finding any information about it combined with the A8N-SLi. If I find anything I will let you know.
I have owned several PNY cards and have never had a problem. They are basically nvidia reference cards. They have a 3 year warranty when you regisiter if you are worried.
I just ordered an OEM eVGA from monarch computers a few days ago that is in transit. I have yet to see a retail eVGA out anywhere. I don't know much about Gameve, but that's the best price I think your going to find on a eVGA that's in stock.
PCI Express offers more bandwidth than the AGP bus. It will eventually replace AGP entirely. It would require you to buy a new motherboard and in some cases a new power supply. Since you said you don't game that much I would just save your money and buy a decent AGP card. Any ATI 9600XT...
For all you rich people out there, Monarch Computer is taking preorders for $715. They claim shipping starts January 14th. It's strange that monarch is getting all these pci express cards in stock at once.
SS = Single Sided (Memory chips on one side of the DIMM)
DD = Double Sided (Memory chips on both sides of the DIMM)
CL is the latency of the memory. Lower latency is associated with faster performance. Typical PC3200 DDR memory has 3, 2.5, or 2 cas latency with 2 being considered the best...
Kingston offers a 2GB kit with 2.5-3-3-7-1 timings. It's not cheap but performance loss is minimal. The reason they don't make them is not because they can't but because it would cost to much to manufacture.

Just in case any of you are looking for one of these rare cards without the eBay inflated price. :)

I have a feeling these will got out of stock fast. Look for a rash of Sapphire's on eBay in a few days.
The power supply is critical to system stability. You should get the best you can afford. I usually recommend Antec power supplies, but they can be costly. If you are on a budget this 450W Aspire power supply has 30A on the +12v rail and is a good value at 50 dollars.
Well I was going to have you look the descriptions of the errors (red x's) that are not from the source "service control manager." You would be looking for any error relating to you graphics subsystem. Is this card new to your system and if so was it stable before? The W0014 Silent Purepower...
I don't know what your operating system is but if it is Windows XP, you should look in the event viewer for errors pertaining to you graphics card. To get to the event viewer go to the control panel, then administrative tools, then computer management. Check the system and and application...
