Active Chipset Cooling Options for A8N-SLI Deluxe

Here is 3DCool's Page for the Swiftech MCX159-R Universal Chipset Cooler. Has anyone else looked into this chipset cooler? I have a Zalman NB47J coming today from Newegg.com but I just spotted this one and am thinking about ordering it if I'm not happy with the temps from the Zalman. This is...

    *** Official ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe (nForce4) Thread ***

I'm beyond pissed about this as well. It's not just dual displays..... you can't run SLI if you want to output to a digital display at all. When I connect my Sony 34" XBR HDTV up to my computer via DVI it doesn't work at all. When I try to enable SLI with the HDTV connected it says: Although...

    "Bonding" two internet connections

You could get a Xincom XC-DPG502 router, the new one can aggregate bandwidth, so if you were to download a file and you had two connections that both maxed at 350k/s you could download at 700k/s. The firmware isn't out that does this right now, but you can still use DAP and get the same affect.

    Taking a laptop to work...........

I recommend the cell phone idea as well. Get a carrier with GPRS and Bluetooth. I recommend Cingular, and for a phone a Sony Ericsson T616. Then just get a USB BT Adapter for your notebook, and as long as you have an Internet plan through Cingular you can use that same internet on your...

    Help with wireless

Instead of getting an access point that can be configured as a repeater, make your own repeater. Access points generally can only be configured as a repeater if you are using all the same brand. There is no way to really know what brand your school is using and plus it's just not as good of a...

    802.3af PoE Help Needed

To answer my own question, what I'm going to end up doing is go with the WG302 AP's from netgear, and I'm going to get some NJ100 3com network jacks that support 802.3af PoE forwarding through the first jack, but they also have 3 other jacks (unmanaged 4 port switch), and then I'm going to get...

    802.3af PoE Help Needed

Actually a lot of companies are starting to do this so that you don't have to an any Midspan PoE. That way you can just have a 802.3af switch and send the power to the unit with really, just a cat-5 cable. So back to I guess my most important question... If I have a 802.3af Switch that sends...

    802.3af PoE Help Needed

If something is 802.3af certified though then how could you blow it up. Aren't all 802.3af things following the same standard? BTW, I'm not talking about power injector PoE here. I'm talking about 802.3af PoE, where the power and data go over the ethernet cable and you only have to plug in...

    Wireless "Repeater"

No, but the DWL-900+ isn't even made anymore, the DWL-1000+ replaced it and it only has half-the power output, and like I said half as good of antenna's. The antenna's can be replaced but no matter what you do the power output is only going to be 50mW. I'm sure that the DWL-1000+ is a fine AP...

    Wireless "Repeater"

So is the Netgear WG302, and believe me it's a much nicer unit. It has 100mW of power and 5dBi antenna's much like the Cisco Aironet 350 which is a $600+ AP. The DWL-900+ probably has like 38mW of power output and comes with only a 2dBi antenna, guaranteed less than half the range and not...

    Motorola SB5100 Multiple Users

Yeah, just get a 4-port router. It will allow you to share files, printers, and it will put you behind a firewall. All good things ;-)

    802.3af PoE Help Needed

Well, I'm setting up a wireless network at my fraternity, and I need some help. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to go with the Netgear WG302 AP's (http://www.netgear.com/products/prod_details.php?prodID=224&view=) which are 802.3af compliant. I'm going to want to place the AP's out in the...

    Wireless "Repeater"

Doing the same brand as your router doesn't always even work. I say don't even use a router/AP unit. If you are going to do anything complex like this. Just get a nice router and then a bunch of AP's.

    Wireless "Repeater"

Not all can do this, but if you want a cheap solution I'd recommend the Linksys 802.11b Access Point, WAP11 v.2.8 (newest version). It is fairly easy to setup, but their are definite quality control issues with Linksys and I find myself swapping out new AP's all the time trying to find one that...

replacing our T1, help me make some network decisions

I really like the sound of this Linux distro. Will definitely have to take a look into it. I can see how using this in a system with 3 network cards would be very useful. Would definitely take some experimentation though based on the environments that it is being implemented into to make sure...

replacing our T1, help me make some network decisions

Well, as far as dual-wan routers I see 4 different solutions: Symantec, Nexland, Xincom, and Hawking. The Symantec is very expensive (Model 200), like $800 expensive. Then there is the Nexland which can be had on ebay for about $400, very nice router and the same as the more expensive...

    128MB Ti4200 w/ AGP 8x or 128MB Ti4600

Too bad that whenever you find one of these sweet boards, they don't support AGP 8x too. How important is AGP 8x?

    budget video cards

How important is the extra 64MB for new games like UT2k3? Or will a 64MB card perform exactly the same? Also, how important is AGP 8x, becuase you can get a Ti4400 which has 3.5ns memory now for $185 or you can get a Ti4200 with AGP 8x and 3.6ns memory for like $195. The Ti4200 in this case...

    128MB Ti4200 w/ AGP 8x or 128MB Ti4600

Ok you guys, I currently have a 64MB GF4 4200 that my friend said that he would buy off me for the same price that I got it for so right now I'm using my temporary GF2 MX400 until I can decide on which card to get. I definitely want to get a GeForce FX when those come out, they'll just kick so...

Hi all, I'm in the market right now for a new motherboard, cpu, and ram. I'm pretty sure what I WANT to get, but I'm not 100% sure that it will all work and I was hoping that you guys could give me some insight into this. I want to be able to overclock a P4 1.6a as high as possible using some...
