There is a backup utility for mozilla software called MozBackup. Here's a link:
mozbackup
You can use that to backup Thunderbird and Firefox but I'm not sure about backing up Outlook. Why not import settings from Outlook into Thunderbird? MozBackup is pretty straightforward, just...
A stupid question, do you have to have a small business to take advantage of this deal? Dell would be kind of stupid to let anyone to take advantage of this deal...
If you have the windows 2k pro install disc, try booting from the cd and then repair the corrupt installation. I had a problem similar to yours once when after a power surge , I unplugged the computer while it was in the middle of loading windows 2000 pro. I think it was doing some sort of...
I set the primary drive with windows to boot first but no luck, it still hangs for some time before loading windows. I disabled a number of sata and raid controllers in bios, could this cause a problem? I'm not using sata drives and no raid is in place so I can't think of why this system is so...
That's the thing, the primary drive is new. The old primary died in December and I replaced it with a new WD 120 gig drive. I first reformatted the drive when I was still using my old setup, the only difference being a different motherboard and cpu. I used to have a Athlon XP 2400+ and a Asus...
When the Windows 2000 Professional logo comes up the loading bar starts off halfway finished and then takes 20-25 seconds before it starts loading windows. For some reason there is absolutely no hard drive activity during this time. Otherwise once I get into windows everything works as it...
I am going from a Athlon XP 2400+ to a A64 3200+ or 3500+. Is there a noticeable difference between 3200+ and 3500+ or considering my current processor, will they both feel extremely fast? Shopping at Monarch, I would save about $100 if I went with 3200+. Is the difference between the two...
Is the 3500+ worth the extra $70 or will the 3200+ be fast enough for my needs? I am a pretty hardcore gamer and have been using a Athlon XP 2400+ with a BFG 6800 GT for some time now. Athlon XP just doesn't get the job done anymore and have been looking forward to an upgrade for some time now.
I am in the market for a new mb and cpu and am having some trouble picking an online retailer. I plan on getting a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum mb and a AMD 64 3200+ Winchester core cpu. Despite the issues winchester cores seem to have with the Neo2 board I want to give it a try. However I am...
The future machine I have in mind:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester core
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum
1 gig of Mushkin PC3200 RAM 2-2-2
BFG 6800 GT OC
80 gig IDE WesternDigital hd
120 gig IDE WD hd
I am curious to see if anyone on anandtech has a similar setup and knows of any potential...
"if (card = 1)" and "if (card = 2)" are highlighted because a single equals sign is used for assignment. You need two, it should look like this:
if (card == 1)
{
c.println ("You rolled an Ace of Spades");
}
if (card == 2)
{
c.println ("You rolled an Ace of Clubs");
}
Has anyone had experience with the JetAudio iAudio M3 20gig hd player? The lack of a screen on the player worries me but it has more features than your average player and decent battery life. At this point though anything is an improvement over my very old cd player so I'm not too picky.
I hope they release a sequel similar to Opposing Forces. I don't know how they would introduce it into the Half-Life 2 universe, maybe use the sequel to fill in the gap of time between Black Mesa and City17.
Hmmm, how to respond to this...
I agree with you about the difficulty of the game, I did think it was a lot easier than HL1 but I can't complain about much else. Then again, you never had to fight in Xen which had to be the most aggravating part of HL1. Maybe other people noticed this but I...
Apparently you are not using the gravity gun enough, saw blades are littered everywhere on that level, killing 4 zombies in one shot was very entertaining.
I also purchased the silver version via steam but I imagine valve will implement a feature that would allow you to upgrade from bronze to silver at some point.
This sounds like a problem I had with my older GeForce 4 Ti4600. I would play UT2K4 or any other game, and experience freezes every 5-10 secs. Use Motherboard Monitor or the monitoring software that came with your motherboard to check the voltages on the 3v, 5v and 12v lines. A vid card like...
lnin0, I was in a similar situation some time ago. I am still using a Athlon XP 2400+ with 512 mg RAM and used to have a GeForce 4 Ti4600 in my comp. After a bombardment of reviews online and discussions here on the forum, I decided on a BFG 6800 GT OC. Though I'm sure any 6800 GT would be...
Ah, thanks for reminding me about the browser, the problem only seems to occur when using Firefox v9.x, when using IE, the problem goes away. Now, to see if I can find something to put a stop to this...
There is a little problem with my site, the line spacing after a form is incorrect when initially loading the page, but then after refreshing the page the spacing seems to correct itself. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? It has been nagging me all day...
Use drivercleaner, reinstall nvidia drivers (I personally had problems with 61.77, most of my apps struggled with the drivers), 65.73 drivers available here. I get temps similar to yours and I have no issues when playing Doom 3 or Far Cry.
It isn't LOUD, it can be a little noisy during a heavy gaming session but I can't really hear it over the game. Otherwise, if it is too noisy for you at idle, get the arctic silencer but I don't think you will go insane with this card in your comp.
The dual dvi is nice and you get doom3 with that deal, if you already have doom sell it and save some cash, otherwise enjoy the game on a great card. If you can see yourself making use of 2 lcd monitors (I really don't see any advantages) then get the xfx, otherwise get a BFG.
I don't have any experience with the X800 Pro but my BFG 6800 GT OC has been great considering my processor (Athlon XP 2400+) is a big bottleneck. Doom 3, Far Cry, Dawn of War, etc... all look beautiful, considering how the X800 Pro has issues with Doom 3 and that the engine is going to be used...
I'm going to wait for nvidia to release the official drivers even with these problems. I have some problems with 61.77 but since I just got my BFG 6800 GT today, I'm too excited to bother spending more time tinkering with beta drivers. Doom 3 looks great even if I can't quit and all of my...
Half-Life, Fallout, Day of Defeat, and Homeworld were all pretty addicting though if I had to choose between them it would probably be Half-Life. I still play the single player and plan to enjoy it with the new source engine :)
Thanks for all the help, looks like I'm going to get the GT and maybe if prices dip down hopefully by the winter holidays I will end up with an A64 as well. It has been 2 years since I last made upgrades to my comp, so I think I can justify the amount of cash I have to spend on this upgrade :)
Some of my system specs:
Athlon XP 2400+
1 gig ram PC3200
Antec TruePower 430watt
Geforce 4 Ti4600 128mg
How much of an impact would a 6800 GT be on my system? I can play Doom 3 moderately well at medium quality(1024x768 and i get 20-25fps) but I really want to be able to run the game...
I can find the eVGA 6800 GT online for about $400 give or take a couple bucks. I continue to look at multiple benchmarks and see that the BFG 6800 GT peforms better at stock settings but I think that I could solve this easily by overclocking the eVGA a little. I have heard the the new cooling...
