Hmm... I prefer games 3-4x that long, but it does only cost 1/3-1/4 what those games usually cost... I'm just wondering if the story can manage to even be worth playing at that long or if it will wind up with the "Soul Calibre/DOA" storyline, which is a line here and there spoken before every...
RO would be fun if people played anything other than field maps and didn't just tank-camp. As it is, if you don't like the adventure of aiming a turrent and clicking... you lose. The only antitank weapon of any use in 99.9% of games is the Russian long range gun, and it runs out of ammo after...
Proving ghosting is there is meaningless if it's not noticable.
99.999% of users say that to notice ghosting on a modern LCD you're either superhuman or full of crap. You choose which. End of discussion.
"July 2001 - EVOLUTION: The basis of all life, or a fairy tale for scientists who reject God?"
Hey, if you're a right-wing nutjob who likes bullshit labeled as Fair-And-Balanced go for it. I'll stick with magazines that don't consider an article about a grade school science teacher who...
I'd pick your lock, take a dump in your glove compartment, close it and leave a note telling you to prepare for unforeseen consequences. Nothing personal, just too hilarious to pass up.
This thread makes me want to play HL1. :( I wonder if it supports widescreen. :P
Who would have guessed that Blizzard would care less about players with no lives than the vast majority of players? I mean it's not like they did a South Park episode making fun of the "elite" WoW players, is it?
You didn't. It's a fine card at a good price... I don't really see the point in upgrading the cooling (could have bought a MSI 8800gt with that cooler installed for ~ what I suspect you're paying, cooler cost spoils the deal imho).
Without AA it's a few percentage pts faster than the 9600GT...
When my mouse got reviewed (logitech mx518 I think?) the reviewers said 1800dpi was too sensitive and almost universally recommended the second highest setting (900dpi?) I just run it @ whatever windows defaults to, since I dont need to program the buttons and therefore never install the Mouse...
I dont know a single manu that will take back a card with visibly burnt caps. I believe they file that under Physical damage. If the card's so cheaply made that they aren't using proper rated components (only way that would be the cards fault), don't buy it. There'll be PLENTY of upset customers...
Man Newegg needs to delete those "Im giving this product a bad review because newegg wont send me free money" reviews. They screw up the PRODUCT reviewing feature.
This place is definitely on my don't shop at ever list now. I have no problem with price mistakes getting canceled. But a lie, and not even a good one, but a pretty outrageous one. Yeah, AaAC.
Probably could SLI up to 8800gts 512meg with it. MAYBE gtx or ultra, but I wouldnt wanna test it. I highly doubt it can run quad SLI.
My earthwatts 500watt makes no noise in my case with stock gts cooler and 5x antec trispeed fans all on Low.
Lol, I'm a HGL founder and Im pretty sure we were told at some point we'd all be given closed beta keys, and they wont respond to my beta requests, so don't feel bad if you're not getting in.
Defensive and Infantry are best, since the games so easy to play defensively and harass your opponent. Before airborne got nerfed they were so ridiculously overpowered it wasn't even funny. But in MP games, a mix of doctrines is useful. Nothing as fun as hitting an enemy with a bunch of Nebbys...
1: TF2 (mostly cause all my buddies own it)
2: COH (Cause most of my buddies own it)
3: CS (All my buddies own it)
4: CS:source (No buddies own it, what I play waiting for em to get on)
5: HGL (No buddies own it, what I play when they aren't around)
I was unbeatable at CS back in the day when I used my $60 logitech trackball. A buddy of mine who's about on par with me as a fps'er would usually be @ 1/2 or less my performance. Eventually my friends demanded I go back to a mouse because they considered the trackball to be cheating... so I'm...
Ahh, then I'd drop BFG from my list. I musta had them and xfx mixed up. 2 yrs warr isn't anything special, and if they dont support aftermarket, I'm not interested.
XFX if ya wanna resell, otherwise EVGA.
It's pretty dumbed down. By that point in the war the Commissars were less important, as Stalin had gotten mauled by Finland a few years back and realized that maybe his political buddies WEREN'T the best commanders for his troops. The winter war was much more like what is pictured in the Soviet...
Yeah that sucks. Problem seems to be when two effects stack, one being the dynamic lights (for instance, the dynamic lighting of the smoke). Smoke gets lit up like a cat on crack with dynamic lights on. Game looks better with them disabled, but hopefully they'll fix em eventually. I wouldn't...
IMHO EVGA> BFG>XFX, but they're all fine.
One consideration is if ya wanna sell the card again in the near future, BFG (I think) has a transferable warranty. Maybe XFX too?
If ya can afford one with upgraded cooling, go for it. The GT cooler is crap.
Ewwww, microatx?
Just Ewwwww.
Putting an 8800gts in a microatx is a bad idea.
Downgrading to 8800gt cooling to make it fit is a bad idea.
Good luck though.
For 1680x1050 or 1920x1200?... probably not. Even with modern cards that'd be hard to justify... assuming next gen actually shows a decent performance boost, it'd be very hard to justify xfire or SLI on a 24".
I'll be damned, I went from 6800gt to ultra to 7800gt to 7800gtxand didn't feel that any of them were a huge step up... and my 7800gtx destroyed my buddies 7600gt. I guess spacing those four cards out kind of masked the performance difference.
