Amazon Viking CF256M 256MB CompactFlash Card = $40.84 - $15 MIR = $25.84 Shipping is free. Seems like a hot deal to me. I got mine for $35 AR last week. They knocked another $10 off the price. I can't believe that, b/c I told myself to wait until the rebate was almost over to wait for a...

Need help with old Compaq Presario 5304 "Restore" disk

Got an old Presario 5304 that I'm dusting off and shipping up to my apartment. Decided to drop the Restore disk in and do a full restore. Not sure if I can just clean install Win98 or 2000 on it since old Compaqs tend to lock me out of everything. Anyway, I get through the install and reboot...

Are all 1GHz+ Tbird the same exact core?

Is AMD just picking cores that run cooler at higher clock speeds and labeling them as 1.33's and 1.2's? I can't understand how it's so easy to get a 1GHz AXIA up to 1.4GHz. I mean, mine is there with no trouble. The only thing keeping me from going to 1.5 and beyond is temperature (well, I...

Any FIC AD11 owners experiencing this problem?

It's not so much a problem as it is a minor annoyance. I couldn't resist the urge to stretch the legs of my new rig, but I was having problems getting the FSB to o/c. I have a 1GHz Athlon-C, and it's unlocked. I kept the multiplier at 7.5x while I tried bumping the FSB, and it simply won't go...

PLEASE help with EZ CD Creator

OK, this thing is getting on my nerves now. Got a LiteOn 12x10x32x burner with the EZ CD Creator 4.02c. I decided to drop the drive into my old Compaq Presario in order to backup a whole slew of mp3s before wiping the drive. The IDE cables in the Presario don't seem to be split, but rather...

What's better, higher bandwidth, or higher core speed?

I've been wondering if it would be better to drop the multiplier really low (like 6.5x or so if that's even possible), then try to o/c the FSB. This should boost your memory, right? Then, work on bumping the multiplier up, and finally the voltage. I was just wondering if bandwidth benefits...
