    RC5-72

I should be showing some points in it after tonight's stats recalc. I enjoyed the run on Lifemapper here with TA, so will give rc5 a run for a while and see how that goes! :) As for taking YEARS........... LOL, who knows. Maybe they will get lucky. On the other hand maybe the points...

    RC5-72

I notice on the distributed.net stats pages that there is a team for TeAm Anandtech, and that there is daily output to it. Yet I don't see any references to it in on the forum. So is the rc5 effort an active pursuit thing? Are any of the people crunching it on the forum? After some of the...

I'd be interested in looking at it. Can you zip or tar it all together into a file that I could download?

Interested In Making A Crack Rack For Myself

This is all really interesting. At one point in time I was messing around with linux firewalls on floppies, then to burning them onto bootable cd's. Well the other night I had an unplanned power outtage about 1am, and even though I've got surprotectors on stuff, I lost a couple systems...

    Female members of TeAm AnandTech

I'd bet that there probably are some, but they are under names that aren't specifically female as they don't care for the hassles. ?? I know I've talked with some gals that have told me they wouldn't sign into anything as a female on the net as there's just too much stuff they have to...

    eOn

There has been much more water pass under the bridge wince the previous post on this thread. Eon is rocking along pretty good now. The latest clients are at http://eon.cm.utexas.edu/ where there are both windows and linux clients. I'm a linux freak so this is a good project for me. The...

I missed the announcements regarding the cell at the big meeting. Does anyone have any more info on what new information on the cell was released?

If you like SOB then try Riesel Sieve

The uncrunched work units are in a file called workfile.txt. Anything that needs to be sent to the server is in tosend.txt, and the file z00000... is the current workunit. The only one I'd even worry about would be the workunit.txt file, which you can just copy over to the new beta...

If you like SOB then try Riesel Sieve

Yes, documentation would be a help! The "download" page has the standard client, not the beta. To get the beta go to: windows: http://download.rieselsieve.co...a-llrnet.win32-cli.zip linux: http://download.rieselsieve.com/beta-llrnet.linux.tgz For setup on windows, put the zip file...

If you like SOB then try Riesel Sieve

Well it was better before the 3.5 beta came out for llrnet. And sieving at present is still ripping through numbers, however we are reaching a point where other issues come into play and the previous benefits to sieving are beginning to wan due to software limitations. Meanwhile the llr...

If you like SOB then try Riesel Sieve

Send a PM to b2 on the rieselsieve site, and tell him what team you want to belong to, and he will see that you are placed in it. :) So are you sieving or running llrnet? I had b2 move me to the Anandtech team. I'm running hard on the llrnet now, have really slowed down on sieving...

If you like SOB then try Riesel Sieve

Yo SlangNRox, They just started an open beta on client v3.5 for llrnet. Really is a massive improvement in speed. If you are running llrnet, you need to get the beta downloaded and start using it. Both a win32 and a linux beta.

    Lifemapper Daily Stats 05-01-05

Thankyou for putting up the stats for this effort! Gotta say it was a gas running the TeAm up to #2. I enjoyed it and enjoyed making some new friends. Good luck to all of you, and I remain, The Brucifer :)

If you like SOB then try Riesel Sieve

I have been crunching on RieselSieve since early last spring. Primarily sieving, but have also done some llrnet. The stats are now working, which is a great improvement. More people are starting to jump in there, both for sieving and llrnet. Athlon XP's are the cpu of choice for sieving...

TA Seventeen or Bust... what's going on?

That's where you have your tenny-shoes on and a floppy disk or two in your hot little hands, and you run around between machines putting on new work units, and copying off completed ones so you can then take them to a system that has internet access to upload the completed and suck down new...

Lifemapper - A Call to Arms!

The real issue here is whether the LM server will keep passing out workunits in sufficient quantity. I'm working at getting a reserve built up. I've presently got 17 system on it, and I'll keep them there as long as I can get work for them. I can probably get a couple more on it, and that...

    Lifemapper closing it's doors.....

I would sort of really doubt it. There are 526,391 separating us, with a daily gain of 1850 give or take a few. So it would take a heck of a load of people to do it. Then of course is the issue of whether or not TPR would let it happen, cause they have the horsepower to improve their...

    Lifemapper closing it's doors.....

Nice short notice... like DF this summer/spring past, but it really wasn't unexpected. Sorta really ticks me off though after all the team effort that went in to getting to #2.

    LM update?

Ah man...... I really have a love hate relationship with this project. I like the environmental thing. The client works fine, but the whole backend is junk... wouldn't cut it where I worked before retiring, heads would roll. There was a notice on Spectre's support forum for LM last week...

    Lifemapper work units

With seti classic (and before when it was just seti) I use(d) Seti-Queue. A good little add-on that works like a charm. Too bad that there isn't something like that for LM. Of course seti keeps their work units in the same format.... so you can queue stuff up. Whereas LM changes stuff...

    Lifemapper work units

Talk about a fast answer! :) Well I'm glad someone else is having the problem *ONLY* because it at least lets me know that my delivery leg isn't the cuplrit. Also, there should be something posted today on Spectre's lifemapper forum regarding the future plans and direction of the...

    Lifemapper work units

Starting late yesterday and continuing through the night and also this morning, I have been getting close to 50% of my downloaded work unit files with a length of 1. Interspersed are also the 160 byte file lengths, however these are outnumbered now by the 1-byte files. The problem is that it...

    Lifemapper Daily Stats 08-12-04

We probably could have made it today but for the uploading problems again. I just didn't have the time today to babysit the systems and forcefeed it and thus have a good load of stuff to be uploaded still on the HD's. I would imagine that others are in the same category. No biggie though as...

Yes, you can run a second instance, just put it in another directory... I do an LM directory, with 2 subs under that, lm1 and lm2. Each of those is for a seperate processor. runs just fine. :) I don't use Mandrake, rather Suse 9.1 and it works fine just as Mandrake does. As long as...

    S@H daily team stats 12/04

So what's the true poop here regarding seti classic and the boinc effort..... I had stuff under the original seti, then some time back when playing with the beta stuff, I changed the account over to the boinc seti. So somewhere I noticed that someone mentioned about changing back from...

yep, and the download function was having issues late last night too in the wee hours of the morning. Uploading is really slow. I now have one system devoted to just doing uploading so the others can run wide open. Also have a slow one doing all the downloading (linux clients) to keep new...

    Lifemapper Daily Stats 30-11-04

    Lifemapper Daily Stats 30-11-04

Unfortunately there is a history of server issues with this project, which has cost the project many participants over a period of time. In fairness though, it is a higher education based project and is significantly impacted by budgetary constraints imposed by the university. I've moved my...

yep, output low today.... well it wasn't the output, just uploading hassles with the DB again. So I just am saving them until they get it rolling again in the morning. At least new jobpackets can still be downloaded. :) At any rate, thank you for the stats! :)

Hi Johan, :) A really nice looking page! I looked down the side list with the projects that the team participates in and noticed that EON was position #16. So thinking that needs to improve a little, I decided to put some effort into it as eon loves linux immensely in comparison to...
