Hello, I was wondering if someone with more knoweldge about computers could help me solve a problem. I recently bought a 20" inch HPW2007 monitor and an ATI X1650pro video card for an older computer (P4 3.0Ghz). I am now having issues with the screen blinking on and off while playing 3d video...
Thanks for your reply! I tried all of that and still nothing. I re-installed windows and it did the same thing. Anyone have any ideas as to what may be the problem?
Hopefully someone will be able to help me fix a weird problem I am experiencing with my video driver.
The issue I am having is that when I install my ATI drivers, windows will not boot up. It was working fine but, I had a stick of RAM go bad that was causing hard lock-up's.
I first...
Don?t get me wrong. I love my X1800XT! It just takes getting used to after having an Nvidia card for so long. With my 7800 all I had to do was download Extreme-G drivers and hit clock freq in the driver panel.
With ATI I have had to mess with the CCC, ATI tool and tray tools but, I am...
I am glad you asked these questions! I was wondering the same things. I just sold my 7800GT and bought an X1800XT. Overclocking with ATI is a lot diffrent than with Nvidia. Not nearly as user friendly.
Yeah I tried that one too. I just installed the patch that was released but it still dosen't work. I don't know what the hell is going on.
It plays fine on my system that has the 7800GT...It just may be an ATI thing.
I bought the game because I loved CIV 2 but it wont play on my 9800 Pro. They need to get that patch out. I tried doing al the fixes but none of them worked.
My 7800 runs fine on my 480W Thermaltake 20pin PSU with the CPU and GPU overclocked. I only have 18A on the 12v rail.
It might not be ideal but it works.
The most I have overclocked my BFG 7800GT is 485 core and 1.15 on the memory. Runs very stable at that setting and get me 7904 on 3dMark05 so I am happy with it.
I recommend the 9500 because it best fit the posters requirements. If he is going for ~$50.00 it is the best card on the list. A Geforce 3 may be faster but it is not directX9 like he was asking.
However, he did put the 6200 on the list so if he dosen't want to stay ~50.00 by all means that is...
If under 50.00 is what you are going for I think the 9500NP is the best card to get. Or look in the for sale section you might be able to pick up a 9700NP or pro for that.
Thanks for yalls replies. Yes, I have the latest chipset drivers loaded. I may just have to reformat.
Something I didn't think about that maybe causing the problem is that I am running a 480W power suspply 20pin with a 24pin adapter. I would have gotten a new one but after I upgraded my...
I recently upgraded my CPU from a AMD 3500+ to a 3700+ and my video card from a 6800NU 128mb to a 7800GT. I haven?t really seen any major performance increase at all. I know the CPU wasn?t that much of an upgrade but the video card was a pretty big jump. Although my 3dMark05 score went from...
I used to have a 6800NU and I loved it for gaming. It is plenty powerful enough IMO but, I recently traded it along with my POS FX5900 for an X800 Pro. The X800 is only slightly faster in some games but the 2d quality is far superior. My desktop is crystal clear and that is why I went back to...
