    Is it true that CD-Rs and CD-RWs can deteriorated after as little as 20 months? I thought they had much better longevity than that. I have some valuable recordings on this media. Hate to lose it. Please advise.

    I recently bought a 2400 dpi scanner for my USB 1.0 port. It seems a bit slow. It's supposed to work faster with a USB 2.0. I was thinking of exchanging it for a 1200 dpi scanner. I imagine it would be faster. But would I miss the resolution? Can someone advise me?

    I'm considering getting a new pc notebook (MS XP). But I've been warned that, unlike my pc desktop (MS 98) which I bought in 2000, the new notebooks (as well as the desktops), running MS XP, do not come with system recovery disks. Worse still, if you have to recover, you need to call microsoft...
