That''s what I was thinking a jumper on the mb but the manual is so bad I couldn't find anything about it in there. BTW I can't even get to the bios, I have no video at all.
Ok so I just built up a new computer with the following parts:
Celeron d 325
soyo p4rc350 mobo
Using the onboard video
atec slk1600 w/ 300W smartpower
pny 512mb pc2700 ram
seagate 10gb hard drive
When I started it up all the status lights and floppy and cd rom all power up but no video...
I am building up a new system with a celeron d 325 cpu. My question is does the 4 pin 12v plug need to be plugged into the motherboard for this cpu to work, will it work without or it doesn't matter for this cpu. Thanks.
I already got the celeron cpu. I have read good reviews for it... people getting it easily to 3.6GHz and plus i don't really care all that much about speed for this computer. And i will prolly just get the pc2700 ram then. This is like a super budget computer. So far I have got the case, mobo...
Ok so this might seem to most people like a really stupid question but im going to ask it anyway just to make sure. I have a SOYO SY-P4RC350 like this one: Link and was wondering if I can stick some PC133 ram onto it? Will it work or destroy the computer?
I recently got this cpu for a general use system. I have read people have easily got this over 3.0GHz. How far do you think I could safely overclock it with just some random thermaltake heatsink(TR2-M3). I want to leave this system on 24/7 so it has to be pretty stable. How far should I go if...
I just got a Apex AD-1165 dvd player and went to hook it up. It powered on just fine but when I pressed the open button nothing happened. I tried again with no luck. Could the drive be jammed. Any suggestions will be very helpfull. Thanks.
I am trying to hook up the front panel usb and firewire on my tsunami dream case to my msi k8n neo2 mobo but all the labels don't match and the connectors don't seem to fit on the mobo. There are also different labels on the wires and in the mobo manual. Anybody have a diagram that could help me?
Get $100 off a new computer purchase or Mobo & CPU combo purchase when you apply for a Micro Center Visa Card. Purchase has to be made same day that you apply. With this you could get a AMD semprom & mobo for FREE and many other mobo/cpu combos $100 off!!!
Note: B&M Only!
I have a A64 3000+ not overclocked with the stock heatsink in a TT tsunami case.
My temps are about 45 idle for cpu and 25 idle for system. Are these high? I don't know what load temps are since i never ran my computer full load yet.
Power Supply Calculator <-- Use this to determine about how much power you need. $30 for a case and power supply is not enough maybe just for a power supply depending on your system. It would be helpful if you post your system specs.
BTW i think the power supply calculator link should be...
Installing xp on my new computer and after it formats the drive, copies files and restarts it says "Error loading operating system". Whats wrong? Using msi k8n neo2 w/ A64 3000+
No 1 is slave and 1 is master. Also my dvd rom has no power at all. Won't even open its tray? The hd and dvd are on different cables though but im thinking the hd is not getting power for some reason either. Any thoughts?
I have my comp booting to cd first and its says boot failure.
I just finished setting up a new computer with MSI k8n neo2 platinum and A64 3000+ but when i started it up it won't recognize my hard drives. On POST it stops at Detecting IDE Devices... for like 10 minutes? Whats wrong?
Do IDE cables only go into the drive one way because mine do not have the tab on them that goes into the slot on the hard drive so I might have plugged them in upside down?
Ok i just installed everything and started up the computer. When i go into the bios to auto-detect hard drives none are detected. Also when I try to just POST it stops at detecting IDE Devices. I stopped it after it was there for 10 min. Is it supposed to take really long in detecting stuff at...
Oh man im so stupid. It does have a connector on the end now that I look at it more carefully !!! Thanks so much for pointing this out.
I hope this solves my problem.
Oh my gosh i think I figured it out. When i was browsing around looking at other posts I realized that I forgot to check the fan on the video card and voila! It wasn't working and im pretty sure it should of been (i only have power hooked to the mobo so video card fan should work right?) If this...
Ok I think i've narrowed down the parts: It can't be the psu because the fan works and the so the psu must be working, it can't be the mobo because the nb fan on the mobo works perfectly when the mobo is the only one plugged to the psu, the hard drive and dvd rom all work fine, i don't think...
Is there some way to test out different parts to see which is bad?
and is there any possibilty that it could just be some simple mistake
-oh well i'll just look into this more in the morning time for some sleep :)
Dunno exactly where it came from cause i just turned the power off after it started. Also i wasnt able to turn the power off by the main power switch i had to turn the switch off on the psu.
is it possible the mobo or something else could have got shorted or is it just somthing like a wiring...
I just finished setting up a new computer and went to turn it on. When i pushed the power all it did was make a loud noise. nothing came on the screen but the fans and lights worked. WHat could have happened. plz help!
I am looking for a nice fan controller/lcd temp display for my TT Tsunami case. I came across the cooler master aerogate II and III. Are these any good. They are almost about the same price. I don't know if the aerogate II will fit in my case with the door closed but the aerogate III should. Is...
