It's not about participating in a conversation though but more like giving a solution to a problem no one managed to give for 10 years now! (given the fact that this is the most popular link in the search engine).
1. Remove the 2 rear pads from underneath the mouse and unscrew.
2. Cover led with something (not metallic of course, e.g. paper).
Done! Tail light will now be turned off permanently.
I used to have the led shorted on its board so it was really off, but after a while the mouse started having...
