I doubt that would work, the only diffrence betwen the english and swedish version of Internet Explorer is the language package, there's no diffrence in the actual exe. [Edited] Orginal reply a bit too wisarsed.

Ever since the last update to the page I can't access the articles any more. The page loads so I can see the menu and everything but not the actual article, then I get a message windows saying that "It was not possible to open the webpage http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2497...

    Vertical Sync disable?

For benchmarking yes, but not while you're actuly playing games. With vsync off you might experience tearing, which can be very anoying, besides you gain nothing by having a higher FPS than your screen can handel.

Watch TV on laptop over wifi?

Yes but live TV should be recored to a temp file on the HDD (that's how GBPvr works anyway), you can play that file (and thus watch live TV) using VLC.

Watch TV on laptop over wifi?

You'r TV card records to a file on the HD right? If so you can just access that file over the network and play it using VLC, works great for me. Only drawback is that you don't have any direct control over the playing, for that you'll have to use VNC or such.

Samsung Gurantees LCD Zero Dead Pixels

Well it's great if you live in S. Korea, which is the only place thier offering it (for now at least). Makes you wonder if they'll ship the defective LCDs to other places where they don't offer the same garantee.

    Norton Antispam thread priority

Hi, I recently installed Norton AntiSpam and it works great except one little thing, its scanning threads have too high a priority. When scanning the ingoing mail the thread eats up so much resources that the whole computer slows down, for example if I try watching a movie at the same time it...

Xp reactivation--How many of you have used up your five lives?

What I can't understand is why this "feature" is there in the first place, I can't see it doing any good. I mean they have released a version that doesn't requier activation for large organisations (like universities), which version do you think is being pirated?

    Projector

Unforsulantely the Panasonic AE700 is probably outside my price range, perhaps a bit more careful spesification of the budget would be up to 2000 (but prefarable a bit below). I having been lookng at the Sanyo PLV-Z2, anyone got any experience with it?

    Projector

Hi, I got a projector for my 20th birthday, or more correctly I was prommised one. It's up to me to buy it. So now I'm wondering which one to get. I'm mainly going to use it as a home cinema (although it'll probably endup being connected to the computer anyway, since I don't have a standalone...

Why oh WHY is my computer so SLOW!

I have the same system as you except 1 GB ram and the Pro version of the gfx card and I run CoD:UO at 1280x1024 with no problem. I don't remeber the exact settings, but I didn't mess with them (except the res of course) so they're the default. So it sounds like it might actuly be the ram that's...

    Prescott is HOT

It crashes? Isn't the P4 suposed to have thermalthroteling to prevent it from crahsing? I seem to remember an article on tomshardware (ok I know, not the most reliable site out there, but at least they shouldn't lie outright) where they removed the heatsink and the computer still didn't crash...

    what TV tuner card?

Um, the PVR 250 is one of the most widely supported cards there is. It works excelent with Sage TV 2.0, Beyond TV and GB-PVR and probably a lot others.

    SAMSUNG 172X... gaming

I have it and although I don't game too much nowdays I must say it works really well. However I do have two stuck pixels on it (red and blue) which aren't visible during normal operation but are very visible in gaming. It tende to degrade the experience. If it weren't for those pixels I'd give...

    Recovery DVD(s)

Hi, Anyone know of a progam that lets you make a recovery DVD? Basicaly what I want is to be able to install windows, install all programs I use and then make a DVD(s) so that the next time I have to do a fresh install I won't have to bother going through installing all programs separately, I'll...

    Disabeling gfx card?

Watching and recoding TV and as a low used web server. For that the integrated gfx is fine. However I'd like to have the GF3 in there for when I take the computer to lan parties, it would be nice not to have to open it and put the card in there every time.

    Disabeling gfx card?

Don't know, but I don't feel like speiding that kind of money on such a old card (besides it looks like the cooler is glued to the card). If nothing else works I guess I'll just have to remove it from the case and install it again whenever I have the need of it.

    Disabeling gfx card?

Hi, I'm running a GeForec 3 in my Shuttle SK41G, the problem is that the fan on the card is rather noisy. So I'd like to be able to shut down the GF3 and run on the internal graphic card when I don't have the need of it's power (most of the times). However the integrated gfx won't work while the...

    Quieting a Shuttle SK41G

Thanks, I think I'll try out this mod and then replace the regular out fan with a papst 12 db. I think I'll also add a turbo switch, going form 100 to 133 FBS, so I can run it low and cool when I don't need the power but can quickly turn it up if I have the need of it.

    Quieting a Shuttle SK41G

Hi, My Shuttle SK41G can be pretty noicy, especialy after a while when the fan will start spining up only to spin down a short while after, and I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to make it more quiet. I been thinking about replacing the fan with a lesser noice one and run it on...

    tv tuner choice?

Um, shouldn't be anny diffrence betwen mpeg created with the PVR 250 and the leadtek. I have a 250 and I simply open virtual dub, cut away the scenes I don't want (like comercials and such), load the conversion settings from a file and then saves it as a avi file (divx). All is very simply done...

    tv tuner choice?

I agree on the PVR 250, it's a great card. I got it a while ago and I wouldn't trade it for any other. I use GB-PVR as my software of choise, I found it to be superior to Sage TV 2.0, and that's not even counting the fact that it's free and updated far more often. Only thing with GB is that it...

Turning your PC into an XBOX

Well, I can't remeber exactly where I read this but MS has said that in the future all Xbox games will run on PCs (with Windows of course). All in acordanse to MSs plan for making a new standard for gaming (basicaly they want to make the os/spesifications while others make the HW).

Hi, I'm looking for a good 19" TFT monitor. I mostly do appliction work but I do play from time to time (if a game hocks me I'm likely to play it untill finished with it... about a day or two later) so I'd like as little ghosting as possible. Anyone got a recommendation? I'm currently looking at...

Does brand matter with pen drives (USB portable drives)?

I have that exact pen drive (the Canyon) and it works without drivers in Win2k/XP, SuSe Linux 9.0 and Mac OS 9.x (that's all I tried it in). I haven't been able to get it to be bootable though, it's suposed to work but I haven't managed it yet. The only downside I can see of it is that the tip...

Hi, I'm currently dualbooting oneof my current computers with Linux and Windows 2k. Since the computer has no screen I'm wondering if there's a way to setup a floppy that'll make the computer boot to Windows if it's in, and if it's not in boot to Linux? Also, I'm soon geting a USB flashdrive...
