I'm just wondering how I would create a partition(s) using diskmgmt.msc in windows XP for my SATA drive? its currently at 250GB and I wanna break that down into smaller sizes. Thanks.
my mobo is a MSI K8N Neo2 Plat. There are 4 SATA ports on there, so according to your post I should be albe to just plug in my new SATA drive and it'll be good? (I think I'm still planning on installing a fresh copy of winXP on one of my IDE drives).
hey guys,
I just bought a new SATA drive, and I'm wondering if I have to do a fresh install of winXP to get my computer to recognize the drive. I remember reading somewhere that in the beginning of installing WinXp I have to press F6 to install RAID drivers or something. Do I need to do...
the SATA1 HDD:

the SATAII HDD:

I thinking of getting one or the other, but will it matter?
Are you sure about older Mobo who support SATA1 are compatible with SATA2 drives? Because I'm thinking of getting a new SATA drive soon and looking through some online retailers its hard to find just SATA1 drives. I have a MSI K8N Neo2 Plat. by the way.
hey guys,
I'm just wondering if you guys have any input for picking out a SATA drive for my MSI K8N Neo2 plat. it'll be my first SATA drive for my PC(which currently houses 2 IDE drives)
anything in particular to look for? good/bad experiences? or just whatever will do?
I'm probably...
Hey all,
I just turned on my computer and noticed it was making funny noises. In particular I believe it is the chipset fan making the noise. I opened up the computer and got as much dust out as possible but when I turn it back on continues to make those noises. How do I solve this...
oh ok thanks. So if I'm predominately gaming and just listening to music the standard cables it comes with is fine then?
btw where in settings do I turn off decoding for the ZS?
Also, I was doing some research on this but I'm also wondering:
The Audigy 2 ZS decodes the Dolby signals(is this correct?) and so does the Z-5500, should I turn the decoding off on the ZS and let the z-5500 do it? or vice-versa? (which would be better)
I'm planning on using it play games (mostly) and music (usually like dance, techno etc etc). I've been playing a lot of WoW lately and I don't know how much of a difference having these new set of speakers will make. lol I'm currently using a set of Z-640's.
I was reading a while ago that when these 2 are paired together they do not produce good results? Is this correct or do I have to buy some sort of additional cables for maximum listening experience?
I ask because I'm planning/thinking on picking up a set of Z-5500 this boxing day. :)
yeah I was using SP2 for Win XP. Windows firewall was on. but I've tried it with and without it on and same results.
but its all good now. I just decided to install a seperate ethernet card in there. it will have to do for now.
I just got this new mobo and got everything installed and what not. but it refuses to connect to the internet for some reason no matter what I do. I have latest drivers as far as I know installed. anyone know how to fix it? thanks.
if its any help I'm trying to connect through my netgear...
lol I dunno if I can back out of my order for the antec one now. I'll have to see. I think read somewhere that the OCZ one maybe has some sort of issue with the MSI K8N Neo2? or am did I misread somewhere?
I'm not sure if the Forton one is widely available in Canada. I have to agree the OCZ one is good, but it is a little pricey. Kinda wanna keep a budget.
I am trying to decide on a power supply and I've narrowed it down to pretty much:

or:

I've never heard of Nikao before...
I remember reading here on the forums someone did a comparision of value ram versus low-latency(LL) ram for A64 and he reported that the difference was not substantial enough to warrent LL RAM. If I take what he says to be true, any kind of value ram should do fine correct? I'm thinking of...
My NEC 3500A on some lower quality media(I think) rated somewhere between 32x~40x only burns them at 24x now. used to be 32x before I upgraded to 2.18 but other than that little spec, all is good with the drive.
I recently bought a A64 3200+ S939 with a MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum. I'm currently using some generic PC2700 RAM from my old comp and it just ain't doing the rig any justice. Any recommendations as to what RAM to get? From what I've read I should go no less than PC3200 and 1 GB of RAM. Any...
I've been giving a lot of thought lately into what mobo I should get with a 3200+ At first I thought the MSI K8N Neo2 was the way to go but judging from the amount of people that have had problems I'm not so sure about it anymore. The other two mobo's I'm thinking about are Asus A8V Deluxe and...
