I'm using Crucial Ballistix PC-3200. Stock speed; will over clock once I have every thing cleaned up. This or the OCZ would be a very good choice for high end memory.

I skipped a PCI slot from the Vidcard just for the reason you mentioned; my Audigy 2ZS is in PCI 2-- Click on Large Picture
Just running a 6600GT, but it's nice and cool. I haven't OC'd yet, but I'm looking forward to the results!
Seasonic SS-460....VERY good PSU; so quiet I can't hear it at all above the case fans...probably going to switch those out to something quieter.
This is a great board. My first AMD system--crossing over from the dark side.:o
Short answer: No, The orientation cannot be changed; the bracket only allows for one direction.
Long answer: I emailed Thermalright about the Neo4/XP-120 combo and they said the same thing, "you 'may' loose the first DIMM slot due to the heat pipes". I went with the XP-90 and installed it...
I just attached mine to a Neo 4 MSI board; same issue with the orientation--only one way to install it. Thermalright's instructions didn't address orientation btw.
I was wondering the same thing about the Artic Silver--I've always spread it over the entire heatsink/cpu. I put a thin layer...
I did some more research on the MSI website; this ram should be fine. They've tested and approved the Corsair ram and it's non-ECC; ~ specs as well.
Have to wait until tomorrow anyway; got the MB and CPU...but the ram and vidcard were delayed.
Thanks for all the responses; I'll let you...
I ordered from Newegg because they had them available first...Bought @ $169...had them lower it to $159 when the price dropped 30 minutes after I placed my order. Bought my 3500+ from ZZF though...your comment is making me cringe. This will be my first purchase from ZZF--i hope i don't have...
I just called customer service and told them I'd just ordeded it, it hadn't shipped yet, they dropped the price--could you please credit my account the difference. All said with a great deal of charm...;)
The other option would be to cancel the order, re-order or buy from ZZF. I've always...
I contacted Thermalright with that question: They said it the 120 would fit, but you 'may' loose one DIMM slot.
I went with an XP-90; the 120 was not that much better to justify loosing a Ram slot IMO.
Dang...That's a really good system. I waited for this board, but i wasn't going to spend that kind of money for a vid card. I went with a 6600GT (Leadtek). You should be more than happy with that system!
Dang, I thought I ordered the correct memory for this board, but now I'm not sure!! I contacted Crucial and they said that the board needs ECC memory not non-ECC...Can anyone help me out here? If this won't work I'll have to pull that from my NE order....Thanks!!!
Crucial Ballistix 184-Pin...
Just my opinion...but the MSI board has a lot of nice features; I haven't seen the specs for the DFI. This board should overclock well...and ....it's AVAILABLE! :)
can you say...
Since ASUS hasn't posted anything about a new NF4/Non-SLI this should be the one to beat...great...
Newegg shopping cart working again...Got the NF4 Ultra...FINALLY!!!
1GB Crucial Ballistix 3200
Leadtek 6600gt pci card
3500+ Winchester..
should be here by the weekend...
Not trying to start a rumor at all, but has anyone heard of a recall of some sort on these boards? It seems suspicious that these big resellers would keep changing the date so frequently...especially with such high demand. Frustrating as hell. :|
That's what I was thinking--that the MB wouldn't see a fan plugged into that and not start...at least the fan is a 3 pin so I can control the speed....hopefully.
Thanks for the response!
You'll have to get a 939 pin AMD chip. I don't believe that PCI is available yet for 754 AMD's.
I'm waiting for the MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum nForce4. It has all the features and should be a great board.
Other than the MSI there is the CHAINTECH NVIDIA nForce4 and the GIGABYTE GA-K8NF-9...
I need the board's opinions on a setup issue.
I'm using this fan controller for my P-160 case and while it does have a lead to control the CPU fan, would it work properly (does the MB need to recognize a fan plugged into the provided fan power?) or should I use the power (pin) from the MB? I...
I picked up a P-160 without the window from CompUSA for $60 net after Antec rebate. Added a Seasonic 460w Super Silencer for $79 from eWiz via pricewatch. This is a very nice case--now if MSI would ship the Neo4 I could finish............
You won't be disappointed with the P-160.
The Good news from Thermalright:
Dear XXXXXX,
The XP-120 fits the Neo4 Platinum. However, you might not be able to use the first memory slot because of the heatpipes. The XP-90 will fit onto the board without any problem though.
Thanks for choosing Thermalright and Happy New Year...
I just picked up an XP-90 from Jab-Tech here.
They had both the Heatsink and fan/thermal grease cheaper than anyone I found. Another thing to consider is to get the three wire Panaflows with B or BX designations. These have the third wire to control speed. I was looking at both the XP-120...
Thanks for the info/link; I haven't built a system in a while...so much to catch up on. Seasonic's are one of the top PSU's IMO;hope this is an A3 for $79, I'll call them tomorrow and let you know--best of luck with your system.
Ciao

Would the Seasonic Super Silencer 460 be a good choice for this new board? I know the board is not quite out yet...but there's a pretty good deal on this PSU HERE.
This site lists the specs as a 24 pin connection, but Seasonic lists a 20 pin for the same model. Can anyone confirm...
I've been playing for 20+ years and for the price point of an Epiphone you could get an ESP LTD Deluxe EC-1000 which is by far a better instrument. Duncan or EMG pickups, Tone Pros bridge, nice flame or quilt top, abalone inlays.....dang nice.

Intel on the Outs?
By Rich Duprey
October 18, 2004
In yet another devastating body blow to the company, Intel (Nasdaq: INTC) announced it would be canceling its 4-GHz Pentium chip. The semiconductor bellwether said it was switching gears, changing its focus from...
I have used the 1080 case for several systems I've built for friends....and they're still speaking to me! Very solid case and great PSU! I ususally replace the fans and add another in the front so cooling is not an issue. You could always replace the case fans if/when they fail. Very good...
