So I have 5 days left on my evga step up program. I rarely game at 1680x1050 resolution. But I do enjoy playing the new games that come out.
I purchased my 8800GT for around 290 before rebate around December, when the GT's were selling like hot cakes. The GTS on EVGA's site is 359.99...
Hmm. Is AA turned on or off?
I had a problem with COD4 in which my graphics were corrupted when I zoomed in with the weapons scope.
I managed to get half way through the game without using a scope, untill the level in which I had to use the stinger.
I found out that I had to turn...
Nope, they send me an email saying they are back ordered. So I decided to cancel the pre-order.
I will wait for the 8800GT to be come around roughly $200 or till December to purchase one.
Agreed... preordered a stock evga myself.
I feel I didnt need an OC version for my Opteron 185, but it will be a great replacement for my 7800GT especially at 1680x1050 at max detail in Oblivion, COH: OF.
Now Im hoping I can get the GT by this Friday......................
Okay, thanks for the clarification. It should say 80 players max per map.
That would have been clearer, since the beginning of the sentence is in reference to maps.
Why is it capped at 40 players? 64player maps are already too small. A downgrade from 64 to 40?
You think the next one would support at least 128player online.
Toledo has twice as much L2 Cache than Manchester. Which provides a performance boost.
Example:
Toledo 2.4Ghz - 2Mb L2 Cache (1 Mb per core)
Manchestor 2.4Ghz - 1Mb L2 Cache (512 Kb per core)
It's the Perc 4e / DC, thats the Dell version of the LSI 320-2E.
Those are good deals, I have 2 Fujitsu MAU3147NP's in RAID0.
I was thinking about picking up a couple of the 73GB models, would I be able to combine the 73GB and the 147GB in a raid array or would they have to be the same size?
It should be able to, depending on the FSB of the P4. If it is 533, there might be fewer motherboards you can run it in compared to a P4 with 800Mhz FSB.
P965 and the P975 should be able to run the Prescott.
You have to look at the mobo makers websites to find out which CPU runs on...
I dont know how they compare to Seagate
But I own that 7H500F0 model and 2 other Maxtors from 1999 and 2003.
All 3 are running fine....I havent had any issues with any of them.
BTW thanks OP for the link...I will probably buy one more of the maxline.
I have a Pentium 4 511 (LGA 775) which has a FSB of 533Mhz.
I want to buy a Core2Duo motherboard for a E4300 later down the road.
However the motherboard I want to purchase link
says it supports a FSB of 1066/800Mhz...but no mention of 533.
Will I be able to use a CPU with a...
Im considering buying an 8800GTX and game at 1680 x 1050 resolution.
I was wondering would my X2 4600+ bog down the 8800GTX or would it be fine?
The X2 4600+ is roughly equal to a Core2Duo 6300 - 6400.
TIA
The fastest PIII processor would be the Coppermine 1Ghz S370 PIII.
You would have to get a 100Mhz FSB PIII (Coppermines). Those range in speed from maybe 500Mhz to 1 Ghz. You should be able to run basic apps and win xp with those.
I recently purchased my X2 4600+, about a week ago. My rig specs are in my sig.
My problems started when I installed the X2, I got to the desktop, and when I rebooted, it gave me a blank black screen. I used fixboot or fixmbr from the windows XP cd, and that seemed to solve the...
I had this case for over a year. Its a easy case to work with.
I love it...but I love white cases.....I love the "sleeper" look instead of those riced out ones with windows & windowed colors. Looks too kiddish to me. Not my style....
anyways here is some FYI....
The CS600 have a lot...
I went to my PC Club store and they had an ad for a Black Thermaltake Mambo Case (regular ATX 2 -120 MM fan bays) at PC Club for $9.99. The ad says it starts at 8/5 and ends on 8/6.
Ok I just got of the phone with Monarch.
Apparently they have been receiving lots and lots of orders.
So I ordered mine on Monday, and they said that mine was already packaged and ready to ship.
The representative told me, that a lot of orders should be shipping not on August 3rd but...
I got the 4600+. Still waiting to ship from Monarch.
Was debating between a 4400+, 4600+ & 4800+, but I thought the 4600+ was perfect in between (at least price range wise) after re-reading a couple of the archived benchmarks from Anand last year.
I'll say just get what you can afford...
Thanks OP in for a 4600+ for $260
Was going to wait till they dropped to $220.
But a 40 dollar difference isnt that much especially since I spend 20 bucks a pop for gas every week.
Its a hot deal in my opinion especially for Cali residents since Monarch has no sales tax and shipping...
I dont think the i810 chipset supports P4's?.
I know that my i810 chipset only supported 100FSB max.
I bought a 1.2Ghz FSB 133 and it defaulted to only 900Mhz.
And the fastest 100FSB coppermine I think would be the 1.2GHz Celeron S370.
Unfortuantely I asked the motherboard maker to make one with AGP, but they didnt cause it wasnt economically feasible to make one custom board for me at that time S370 was long dead, and S478 was already obsolete. I would have paid $100 to probably solder on an AGP board and do some bios...
I had a Tualatin 1.4, and yes it can play Battlefield 2 Demo.
It ran without video lag on a FX 5700LE PCI at medium settings in a 64 player server. But this is with 1GB of ram and Im sure Im more likely to be PCI bus limited than CPU.
I doubt it would run Special Forces esp Night Maps...
I have a AMD 64 3000+ 939 and a P4 511 LGA 775.
My 64 is my primary and gaming computer.
I just swapped motherboards MSI nF4 Ultra to DFI nF4 Ultra.
Im gonna get an Opteron 175 or 180 maybe this December, if they still have them in stock and the price is around 300. If not I'll get...
The Conroe tested against the FX60 by Anandtech, used DDR2 667.
However when Conroe is released, would the standard DDR Speed be 667 or DDR2 800 like AM2?
Like when you say
you got this item 2 weeks ago for $102 w/ coupon
It would show up as
you got this item 2 weeks ago for $xxx w/ coupon.
Probably to discourage people from posting...I got this at a better deal from somewhere else.
They also have a language filter...I tried to...
I have an Antec Aria case with a LGA P4 511 2.8ghz in it. I have installed a new coolermaster heatsink with/ 3 heatpipes and the coolermaster fan:
With SMART cooling: Idles at 54-62 degrees C
Without SMART cooling: Idles at 44-50 degrees C
I cannot get a bigger cooling device cause...
