Initially the server had only 1 NIC but shortly after someone came in and added a 2nd NIC for internet access, coming thru from a DSL modem.
Previous to this only 1 other computer on the network had Internet access, so i'm guessing that was the entry point.
Don't know if a freshly...
Thanks for the responses. Will be heading to this client tomorrow and will give the Malwarebytes a shot. Noticed the supported OS's don't list 2003 Server as an option but I will still try it anyways.
Hi all,
Here's my situation. I have a server running 2003 Small Biz Edition. It was freshly installed recently, without any latest updates. Another company ran an Internet line for us, connected it and left it connected over the weekend when they were instructed to leave it disconnect. So the...
I'm going to get my hands on the CD that was used tomorrow hopefully. I wasn't around when the installation was being done (the client only called me in after this happened) so I'm not sure if they were using an original or copied version of Peachtree.
Backup is available but whoever was...
Hey all,
I've got a Windows 2003 Server machine. Someone tried to install Peachtree on it, but was not successful due to an error they said which was insufficient priviledges or something along those lines.
That was on a Friday.
Monday now, users come back to work, all...
I'll have to mention that to him... swish does make sense in terms of what he was talking about, just can't understand why he went through the trouble of spelling Slash for me though.
Thanks for mentioning that though.
That's the only Slash i'm familiar with myself!
Looks like I'll have to wait until Thursday when I meet the guy again to find out more info about this.
All I know is he said he used it when he worked in Venezuela and it was similar to Flash.
Someone was telling me about some software going by the name "Slash" that's supposedly used to make animations much like using flash.
I've tried searching around for this "slash" without any luck... anyone ever came across this software or used it before? Am I making a typo or have I been...
There's this song playing on the radio a few times which I heard sampling the music from Billy Idol's 'Eyes without a face', guess it's a recent song since I've only heard it this month.
Anyone knows the name of it? I've tried looking by the lyrics I know from it but can't seem to get...
Hey thanks alot for mentioning that note about the cold lamination. I think the Dymo uses thermal paper so yup, laminating that would cause problems! I'll speak to the staff on Monday to find out what sort of lamination device they have.
The tractor feed with one up labels sounds good too...
Thanks for the ideas guys.
The purpose for the cards isn't due to staff turnover though. It's a small private hospital who wants to print out cards for patients with stuff like their blood type, etc.
They've got about 2000 of the pre-printed cards at the moment with their logo etc. on it...
Looking for a printer capable of printing on individual business cards.
Basically I've got a customer with alot of pre-printed cards, which they'd like to put into a printer and have info. such as name, address, etc. printed onto the already pre-printed card.
I saw Canon has a few but only...
I ended up putting an IDE drive into the server, and installing win2k3 server on it. I was then able to see the corrupted mirrored scsi drives in windows explorer, but their C: partition was totally inaccessible and the D: was not much better.
I had some file recovery software which I'm...
Unfortunately this scenario really sucks since the people had this server as their DC with exchange running on it also, which is really not a good idea. On top of that... you guessed it... no backups!
I'm just really scared to try removing one of the drives and putting it in another PC right...
Long story short... 2 SCSI drives in a raid 1 configuration, Windows no longer boots despite many efforts to repair, but it seems the file system has become corrupted.
Is it possible for me to remove 1 of the 2 drives physically and place it into another machine and be able to view the drive...
Thanks.
A company has some 1905FP dell monitors that use these cables, and want to upgrade their video cards to the 7900GT model, so they wanted to ensure that the existing cables would work on the new cards.
I'll see what else I can find.
Hello all,
I don't really know much about DVI cables or high end cards, but I'd like some help here
Will the E81280 cable like this work with the DVI ports on the 7900GT Video card like these?
Any help will be appreciated!
Just wondering if those of you who wear contact lenses ever tried using one of those little cleaners where you put in your lenses and solution and it uses waves/pulses to clean them.
I've seen some selling on ebay and amazon but not many reviews on them. Curious as to if they work well and...
Hello all,
I want to connect an Ethernet-ready printer (HP Business Inkjet 2800dtn) to a Wireless Router such as a WRT54G (via one of its four wired ethernet ports) and allow wireless laptops which connect to that router to print to the printer.
Would it be possible for me to setup that...
Have'nt heard anyone mention this yet but could it be that Newegg and UPS have some sorta deal where they agree on a certain price once they ship out x amt. of packages per week or per month, etc.?
I always thought that's how they did it with FedEx before to offer such good shipping rates...
When they offered FedEx shipping only it was great, packages almost always arrived a day earlier and I never got a damaged box.... UPS on the other hand, packages almost always arrive in poor shape, thankfully no damage to the items inside but still seems like the package took a beating.
I...
Ok here I go...
Just to give a short background, i'd like to store info. on products, customers, suppliers and employees. So far i've come up with a table for each like this:
Supplier Table
Sid
Sname
Saddress
Stelephone
Sfax
Semail
Employee Table
Eid
Efirstname
Elastname...
I believe 3rd normal form is used to get rid of all attributes in a table that are not dependent on the primary key of that table.
I know the definitions for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd normal forms but I can't get around to actually sorting out the data right :(
Long story short i'm supposed to create some tables in a database for a small class project.
I totally suck at normalization.
I have my un-normalized data, and need to show it normalized in stages up to the 3rd normal form.
If anyone here is willing to give me some help, please PM me...
From my experiences, shipping with USPS is usually the same price as if you were shipping an item within the CONUS. With FedEx and the others however, they regard PR as an International shipment and thus charge more.
I've had ebay sellers as well as AT members from the FS/FT section mail me...
Sorry I did'nt realise the board had space for 4 sticks of RAM.
In that case you should be ok with the 2x 512 sticks then.
I was just wondering if a single 1gb stick would perform better than 2x 512 sticks... i'll look into that.
I've never really done any photoshop or video editing on a pc before so I may not be able to give you a great reply... but IMO i'd probably look to either bump up the ram from 2x 512 sticks to possibly 2x 1GB sticks.
I think that'll help out a bit when handling the editing you'll be doing.
I'd go with the single 1GB also.
2GB sounds like overkill for what you want to do at the moment, but it's always good to cater for future upgrades and save yourself some money in the long run.
If they get too ripe it'll get too soft.
Best way to do it is by touch... just squeeze it gently and if all around it feels slightly soft, you're in luck. They can be ripe/half ripe and still look green.
You can leave the skin on, and cut a face off from either side of the seed.
Eat those 2 pieces similar to eating an orange.
You can then peel off the skin from remaining part with the seed and have fun trying not to make some mess!
Ok for those who still don't understand!
The fee I should have had to pay = $40.50
The fee I ended up having to pay = $81.00
Got the delivery today, lo and behold Dell's packing slip registers at 17.6 pounds, and UPS's tracking sticker says 18 pounds, a mere half of the 36 pounds I was...
Ok i'm sorry i dont think i explained it well earlier..
The 36 pounds i'm refering to means that i have to pay a fee for the laptop to be transported from USA to Trinidad, which is based on a per pound rating.
So that means now I am paying 36 pounds * $2.25US instead of 18 pounds * $2.25US
The UPS tracking number I got from Dell showed the package weighing 17.6 pounds.
When my skybox company accepted the package and weighed it, their scales said 16.3 KG which is almost 36 pounds.
So basically it's either UPS or my skybox company that's wrong, the Operations Manager said the...
My bad luck i guess cause weight means everything with the skybox... i get charged frieght on a per pound basis.
I'm in the Caribbean so i'll have a friend in the US who put thru the order call UPS and make some noise!
The manager at the skybox co. told me UPS does'nt care how much it weighs cause Dell pays them well enough regardless of what the package weighs so they just put whatever figure for the weight they want.
Sucks that they had to go with half of what it actually weighs!
Oh well i'll be...
Long story short...
I ordered a laptop from Dell and shipped it to my skybox address, UPS tracking said the total weight was 17.6 pounds.
My skybox got it and weighed it at 16.3 KGs which is basically 36 pounds... double the weight.
End result, i'm pissed cause now I have to pay twice...
