Current setup - 1 x seagate scsi 36.7gb via adaptec 21960N PCI card
Everything boots up fine and works like a dream. When i add a WD 200GB IDE HD , it seems to halt at BIOS for a good min , then it goes onto load windows and that takes minutes where without it it tooks seconds.

I have built up an Asus SK8V mobo with FX-53 cpu , with corsair 2x512 ram and a seagate cheetah 36.7 gb HDD ( or thereabouts). I get my computer up and running fine with just that setup. i have added a pioneer dvd writter and a dvd-rom fine as secondary master & slave. Only when i try to fix...
Does anyone actually know if the fans supplied with the case are anygood or is it better to go out and buy some Zalman/coolermaster or vantec one's ?
They do seem to be silent but doesn't seem to be pushing much air in/out to me or maybe it's just me.

See i know i need registered ram for the cpu and mobo. But very few sites actually tell you whether it is reg or not. Is there another way of finding out if it doesn't tell u in the item description ? iv heard unbuffered ram is best to get for games etc.
any idea's ?
i am looking to get a asus sk8v mobo but might need to flash it to accept my cpu , fx-53. How do u actually flash the mobo bios without a cpu ??? or i is it relativly easy to do ?

Ok lads , i have bought a 64 bit fx-53 processor off ebay for $470 which i think is a bargain since i am in the UK and it retails here for over £500 . Anyways i now am looking for a mobo and registered ram , am i right in saying i would need reg ram for it ?

I currently have a p4 2.4 cpu. I have 768mb pc 2700 ram and a ATI x800 pro gcard. I was looking to u/g my cpu. Is it worth upgrading to a amd 64 3200 at all because although its a good CPU i would rather get something like a 3500 but not willing to pay that much for a CPU at this moment of time...
