    Asus A8N SLOOOW bootup 1011 BIOS 6.65 nforce 4

I've managed to find the solution so to help anyone else with the same problem, this is it. The reason my (and numerous others I found after doing lots of research) took an age to boot is down to the Nvidia Sata controller driver enabling NCQ on my hard drives. Even though my Hard drives are...

Hi Topweasel, I updated the BIOS in the good old fashioned way of a floppy disc. Thanks anyway for the suggestion!

    Asus A8N SLOOOW bootup 1011 BIOS 6.65 nforce 4

I've doubled checked the installed drivers and I haven't missed anything. I'll try a previous BIOS version and IDE drivers when I get home from work later. Thanks for the suggestion! In the meantime, does anyone have any other possible solutions?

    Asus A8N SLOOOW bootup 1011 BIOS 6.65 nforce 4

I got the 6.65 drivers off the ASUS site along with the BIOS as they recommend, so logic suggests they work together. The 6.66 version driver on the nvidia site have the same file versions. Thanks anyway!

    Asus A8N SLOOOW bootup 1011 BIOS 6.65 nforce 4

Can someone please help me as I've ran out of ideas as to the cause. I've done a clean install of XP (32 bit) on an ASUS A8N (Non Deluxe) mainly to use the new 1011 BIOS as I'll be upgrading my CPU in the near future. I've also installed the 6.65 nforce 4 drivers off the ASUS site which they...

    NVRaid Tool

Hi I Have an Asus A8N-SLI Non-Deluxe board that's running sweet! I have 2 x 80Gb Hitachi HDDs on the Nvidia SATA ports in a Raid 0 configuration. When I installed Nforce 4 chipset drivers, I didn't install the IDE drivers (I read numerous times it can cause problems and being as I only have...

    A8N-SLI or A8N-SLI Deluxe ?

I have the Non-Deluxe. 8 SATA ports and 2 LANs on the Deluxe is overkill IMHO. Who needs 8 hard disks (Plus any on the IDE ports) unless you're running a server? Save the extra few bucks to help pay for other components. Housecat "get the deluxe or regret it" Regret it? That's a...

Torn between 2 Geforce 6600GTs PCIe

I hadn't read a review, but I have now! Thanks! Seems it's pre-overclocked a bit which is good as I'm not a fan of overclocking myself just for a few FPS that I probably wouldn't notice. The Galaxy is winning so far :D

Torn between 2 Geforce 6600GTs PCIe

Opinion is split so far! I'm in the UK and the price difference is £3.00 ($5.50) in favour of the ASUS (which is insignificant). I think the Galaxy may be German in origin. n7 - Thanks for your input. I looked at the Leadtek, but I am looking at aesthetics as well because I have a...

Torn between 2 Geforce 6600GTs PCIe

Having looked at the pros and cons of each manufacturers 6600GTs (They're all pretty much alike), I've narrowed it down to a choice of 2. The ASUS Extreme EN6600GT-TD or the Galaxy GF 6600GT. What I want to know is; I've seen lots of reviews of the ASUS card, stable, reliable, fast etc...

    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

To Visual.. You said it yourself "Granted, there are issues with the official 1001 version. It seemed to overvolt my Winchester at almost 1.5 volts when voltage was set to "auto", setting it to 1.4 manually worked perfectly though. Higher voltage settings didn't work but you still could...

    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

Well, I sent Asus the query on the 23 Feb and NO reply yet! Nothing on the link either. I've either been dumped to the back of the queue or being ignored. Come on ASUS, this is disgraceful! :disgust:

    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

Well, it's been over 2 days since I asked ASUS for some information on BIOS updates for the A8N-SLI Non-Deluxe and I haven't received a reply. Does anyone have a Non-Deluxe board and information on BIOS updates? OR is the Non-Deluxe board relatively trouble free? Does the extra functionality...

    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

Hmmmmmm, interesting stuff! Thanks for the replys! It seems the deluxe version does get better support, probably because they've sold more? But that really isn't an excuse because people who have bought the non deluxe version are being left in the cold with issues that aren't...

    A8N-SLI (Non Deluxe) BIOS Version

Here's something puzzling me. Why is there now a 1004 final BIOS for the Deluxe board, but the non Deluxe board is still stuck on 1001? Surely the extra SATA ports, Gigabit LAN etc can't be collectively causing that many problems? Because that's the only difference in the 2...

ABIT class action suit about bad capacitors

They must have changed their policy then because when I complained to AbitUK 18 months ago, they wanted to charge me £55.00 plus VAT! (@17.5%) About £64.00 (approx $120.00) I think I'll contact them again ;)

Thanks Mem! So to clarify, the 24 pin socket is totally occupied AND the 4 pin above the CPU is as well. Sorry to sound dumb, but I've seen so many do's and dont's I don't want to frazzle the board before I even start! :Q

I'm a noob so please be gentle! ;) I've scanned through the forums looking for an answer to my question, but can't find it so here I am! :D I'm currently assembling components for my new system and I have the Tagan 480-U01 Power supply and Asus A8N-SLI (non deluxe, I don't need the extras)...
