    P5B-E won't go past 350fsb

I've given up with it. The boards just aren't that good for overclocking. Some people are doing well with them, but loads of us aren't. Might be the northbridge voltage, who knows. My advice is to sell the board if you can and go for the abit or p5b-deluxe.

    P5B-E won't go past 350fsb

It's nothing obvious like that. These P5B-E 1.01's are just really hit and miss :( I can get it to post but doesn't even get to the windows loading screen at 401.

    P5B-E default cpu voltage

From what I hear, Speedfan is the thing to use to measure voltage and temps.

    P5B-E won't go past 350fsb

I just went through exactly this - and my P5B deluxe was DOA (neither of the NICs worked properly... but that's another story). Just wondering how you got on with the OC on the deluxe? I could only get mine up to 403 with a 6300.

    OC E6400 P5B-E

MOSFET is a type of capacitor, so I would guess they mean the ones on the voltage regulator on the board. I think they already have heatsinks on the P5B-E, so that might not help to be honest. I also have a P5B-E with a 6300, and I can't get it above 390FSB. People say that 401 will...

    Alternative to Maxtor PowerMax?

Unfortunately, it doesn't work with them whatsoever. From the Maxtor website: Note: PowerMax v 4.21 will not detect ATA or SATA hard disks connected to embedded or add in RAID controllers, NVIDIA Force 3, Force 4, VIA KT 600 and KT800 chipsets. If the hard disk is connected to an...

    Alternative to Maxtor PowerMax?

I've got a Maxtor Diamondmax Plus10 that I suspect is dodgy. At the moment it's running off the nVidia controller in my A8N-SLI Deluxe. The trouble is, Powermax won't detect drives on this controller. It also won't detect drives on the SI Raid controller. So what can I use to try and...

Does A8N-sli firewall cause bluescreens/reboots for anyone else?

Yeah it does, check the last few pages of the Official A8N-SLI thread on the first page of the Motherboard forum.

No direct 3d installed in XP Pro

Yeah, it should install it as part of direct x, but I think it's reliant on the video card drivers you've got installed. You could try reinstalling the latest and then directx over the top, or if you need it to work out of the box for a remote install etc., maybe add the new drivers to the xp...

Need someone else with same spec to take me under their wing...

Guys, I've been trying to work out why my machine is running around 10% slower than the benchmarks on tomshardware say it should, but I'm really running out of ideas. The rig was running quick for the first few days I had it, but since then it's really *felt* slower, and the benchmarks...

Mine is IRQ 18 too. No stability problems.

    *** Official ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe (nForce4) Thread ***

My problem (page 74) is just that it's running slowly - some 10% below what Toms and other people say it should. I don't have any problems with stability however. Not seen this problem yet myself. Yeah, I had that too. Took me a little while to work out it was the CD :) Show me...

    *** Official ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe (nForce4) Thread ***

Yeah, clearly it's not 30% out, but 700 is quite a lot (nearly 10%) - I still think there's something amiss with my config. :(

My system runs slow, but yes, I can vouch for the new driver and NCQ with a Maxtor Diamondmax 10 300GB. 4 days of solid use with no problems. HTH

I've got exactly the same problem. I'm sure the system was running quickly for the first few days I had it, so I'll try rolling back to the drivers that came on the Asus CD. 3000+, A8N SLI Dhry: 7407 Whet: 3681 :/ Please let me know if you get anywhere. I'll post back here after...

Did you ever get a solution for this? I have the same problem trying to get the mic to work, but on my Wave Master I only have GND and Mic-PWR cables, no mic-in. Any advice appreciated.

a8n-sli, silicon image raid in raid1 questions

I've got the same issue - It's because the raid controller is still mirroring the two disks. If you run the Silicon Image java util, you'll see that both disks are yellow. If you then go Window -> Task Manager, you'll probably see a task labelled 'Restore Redundancy'. On my 250GB disks...

Apologies in advance if I've missed this in the thread; I've read maybe half of it, and done some searches, but _man_ can you guys post. I've upgraded to the A8N-SLI from a A7N8X-deluxe, which had 3 DIMM slots. These were filled with 2x256mb and 1x512mb Corsair 3200LL (2-3-2-6 i think)...

ASUS A8N SLI - Corrupted Installation of nv Firewall [Resolved]

From first post: Resolution: Download the files from here. Unzip them to <nv firewall install root>\bin (typically c:\program files\nvidia corporation\networkaccessmanager\bin). Then run "regsrv32 AppFltUi.dll" from a command prompt in the bin directory. This should, of course, be regsVR32...
