So my friend approached me to help him make a computer. Only thing he will be using it for is Heroes: Might and Magic, watchin movies, surfing the net.
Pretty easy requirements - can we get it under 400 thou? This is not including the monitor.
Thanks
okay so my dad told me over the phone about how the computer turned off and wouldn't turn back on - at first i thought power supply. but when i came home and fiddled around with it - the computer turned on but i then noticed some scorching sounds -not to mention the smoke from the video card -...
yeah if i were getting the hyperx its a gig for 170 i think they have it out at outpost- :) probably no overclocking - so valueram? or the cheap hyperx?
my Asus A8V and 3400+ are shipped and now i need to figure out what ram I should get? anyone have some suggestions. It will be a gig of ram and thinking Kingston Hyperx - but not quite sure. What are the advantages of ram and will i notice the difference except price? THanks all!
I would like to know if there was a 6600gt agp that was going to be passively cooled. I know gigabyte make a vanilla 6800 passively cooled? Anyone heard anything?
my system specs are in my sig - ran memtest with no problem - but when i run defrag on perfectdisk - i keep bsoding - it says i have a file corruption of ntfs.sys - and this only happens if i try to defrag - thx all - anyone have any suggestions?
newegg tells you what version they sell
edit: on every processor it has a model number - as said above you will be able to tell if its a cg version by the last two characters in the model number
-the evercase you picked is more quiet than the sonata - i would ask on silentpcreviews forums for silent components
-from what i heard and pending on what you think is quiet - many people have told me that the psu on the sonata is loud - even thou it is targeting quiet users - at the moment -...
the back plate is easily removable - just bush on the two screw parts - and with a lil pressure it will come off -
on another point - don't listen to the manual about dimm slots - i placed a ocz stick in the blue slot - and it had errors - rmaed it - got another stick - placed it in the...
if I were you i would go visit http://www.silentpcreview.com - they are hardcore noise ethusists
pending how all you you might want to go - these are some recommended settings:
-mobile athlon 64 cpu (rated at 35w - low power means low heat means slower fans to cool your cpu also you can...
430w is overkill - in many systems 300 is more than enough - the k8v is a great board you just need to help it along because its picky about ram - with the installation of xp all you need is the via sata raid drivers - no promise nothing else - and press f6 to install it
i have found that if...
hmm okay - yeah i have really high standards - the loudest thing in my computer right now is the PNY ti4200 in my system - fans are running at 5v and everything is quiet as hell - i am thinking of getting the 6800 gt but i guess i have do some more noise work if its as loud as it suppose to be :(
have you tried running memtest?
i am running that board and yeah it is very picky with memory - my ocz pc3200 512 plat edition enhanced latency had some errors - stuck in my spectek pc2700 and all is fine - rmaing memory too right now
i am planning to get a 6800 gt but was wondering the noise level of the fan? my system is runnin quiet that the loudest thing is my pny geforce 4 ti4200 - and looking to upgrade both power and noise :) thx
