Well last night I started the test again (still at factory auto settings..no overclocking) but set it too small FFT settings (less RAM) and it went all night and I just stopped in now (12 hours total) without any errors. Now its looking like its the RAM thats giving me the trouble. I think I...
I've had my new system for about a week now and began overclocking right after I built it (3000 Winchester with 1 gig of Corsair value RAM). I worked my way up to 235x9 with DDR333 memory setting and thats the only settings I changed. System seemed to be stable but heard about this Prime95...
I have a A64 3000 with Asus A8V mobo with Corsair value RAM. The ONLY things I've changed right now are:
245 FSB (or whatever its called on these A64)
DDR333 RAM setting (5:6 I believe)
I've been reading about 1T and 2T settings when it comes to overclocking. Also read about the HTT...
What is the HHT multiplier and how is it changed? I have Corsair Value RAM so I probably won't be able to do extreme overclocking but was wondering if I should change RAM settings? Its all on Auto right now but I know nothing about "2-3-3-6-T1"
Well I decided to tinker a little and this is what I've done so far:
Changed the memory setting to DDR333 (5:3)
Bumbed the FSB to 205MHz
I'm running fine at 1844mhz. What about RAM timings? I know nothing about them but have heard about them. At what point would I need to increase the CPU...
Just got done building my new computer and installing everything and its seems to be stable. I have an Athlon 64 3000 winchester with Asus A8V mobo. I would like to do some overlclocking but don't know what settings to start with. Can anyone tell me what settings to change and which speed to...
I'm no car audio expert but I don't think it would be that great. Would it work..probably but it would most likely distort pretty bad with that little of power (50W max coming out of that headunit and the sustained RMS is only 22). I would recommend getting a seperate amp. If that 10" sub is...
The older I've got, the more intersted I've become in the universe. I was wondering if anyone had a good recommendation on a book that talks a little about everything but isn't super geek technical.
I ordered this one yesterday: http://www.newegg.com/app/View...tion=14-122-193&depa=1
It has lots of good reviews on newegg and some on this board recommended it also.
What is the best way to contact Epox about this problem? Do you have to send a reciet or anything as proof when you bought the board? I'm currently in the process of building an entire new computer for myself (should have it done by the end of the week). I still was hoping on being able to sell...
Found this deal at CompuUSA: http://www.compusa.com/product...code=297029&pfp=BROWSE I was going to get it through newegg but they didn't have the rebate. I also ordered a new mouse, fan, and thermal paste through CompUSA and got over $150 so I got free shipping which helped a lot too. Just...
I was leaning toward the 710T since its DVI for $420 through newegg.com I was on CompUSA and you can get a 712N for $280 and newegg has the 710N for $295 (which are both not DVI). I'm starting to wonder if its worth spending $150 for DVI and I would be better off with the 712N.
Really! So I'm not the only one who has had this problem. My board is an EP-8KHA+ but I'm sure it would have no warranty all all since I ordered it sometime in summer 2001. I planned on upgrading my computer very soon here so I will be ordering a new board anyways but I was hoping to sell this...
I built my current system in summer of 2001 (Athlon XP 1600+ and Epox board). I used to keep track of CPU temps but didn't after awhile. Lately I've noticed that it has been running hotter and it alarmed out on my one time playing America's Army. I installed Mobo monitor and let it run all day...
Yeah 120 would be quiter but I don't think that model can take 120's and I'm really set on that case.
Yes I plan to try to overclock some (hopefully be able to get at least 2.4ghz out of it). Are NEC burners pretty good then? How about this one...
After researching things out here and there for the last few days I think I've finally made my decision on the main components of my new computer. Here they are:
From Monarch Computer Systems:
Asus A8V Deluxe
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 90nm (939) with Thermaltake A1838 heatsink/fan
Corsair DDR400...
Thanks for that link. Lot of good info there. As far as brands go, any big difference between Muskin and Crucial? Both of lifetime warranty but the Crucial has a lot more feedback in newegg.com which should mean it is very popular.
Decided on Asus A8V with Athlon 3000 and I would like to overclock. I need to know if the value line RAM like these: http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=20-145-026&depa=1 or http://www.newegg.com/app/view...=20-146-299&DEPA=0 would work. Would I need something a little more expensive or...
The RAM I found on monarch is the same here on newegg ($4 less): http://www.newegg.com/app/View...=20-145-026&depa=1
From the reviews, this looks like very good ram. I think I would rather order with my mobo so its setup with it and tested (done for free anyway). Will this RAM be...
Fixed the link for the RAM. Also found this Mushkin on newegg.com: http://www.newegg.com/app/view...=20-146-299&DEPA=0
Is this RAM any better for doing some overclocking?
I think I will go with this fan then: http://www.monarchcomputer.com...mp;Product_Code=130129
As far as RAM, it does show up cheaper if I list just one single 512 then another in the 2nd memory option. This is the cheapest listed: http://www.monarchcomputer.com...mp;Product_Code=140879...
I decided to order my mobo/cpu compo through Monarch Computer. I'm getting an Asus A8V Deluxe and Athlon 3000+ Winchester. I have the choice of 5 different CPU heatsinks/fan. I do plan to overclock a little so I do want the one that will cool the best but don't know which one that is (my guess...
Ah $270 is close enough to $250 for me. Looks like that card has a lot of good reviews. I've never had experience with Leadtek before. Do they make a good product?
I'm in the process of building a new computer. So far I'm pretty set on an Asus A8V with Athlon 3000+. This board doesn't have PCI express so I need an AGP card. I want to be able to play Doom 3 and HL3 well at least at 1024x768. I also need a card with DVI output. Thanks!
So it sounds like the 3000+ model would be the way to go. If people are getting 2.6-2.7 ghz OC'd out of these things, is there any minimum I would expect this thing to be able to overclock too?
Thinking about upgrading to a new LCD (with my new computer) and was wondering if its worth paying for a DVI LCD over the regular analog. My new video card will have DVI so I could get a DVI monitor but don't know much about them. Was looking at this 17" LCD Samsung but its not DVI...
I know I want a 939 Winchester core Athlon 64 which pretty much narrows it down to these two (the 3500+ is over my budget and from I understand, there isn't a 3400 Winchester?). I would like to overclock a little with an Asus A8V mobo. Which CPU would be better? Can one overclock more stable...
Thanks for the info. Guess I will stay away from that setup. Getting off topic a little, are these 3400 939 90nm overclockable much? If so, which mobo is better for overclocking (Asus?).
Thanks!
