Yeah, I guess it used to be P4 only, but the AMD board started useing it too and yes, you certainly should plug it in. The other two ("regular" flat 4 pin molex power and floppy power connector) are kind of optional, but suppoed to make the board more stable, so can't hurt to use them...
Look for the 4 red leds down in the bottom left corner (if the board is oriented normally in a case) See if they are on or go out when you boot up. The error codes are in the manual. There are also some beep codes I think, but you have to turn on the speaker in bios I think. Start out with one...
Isn't that what num lock is supposed to do? It toggles between the keypad typeing numbers and functioning like directional arrows doesn't it?
It might help. I'm ruing 2/01 (beta) still. But I did have problems with 1/25 so any bios upgrade would probably help some.
Which bios are you using Reijison? As for the PSU, yes a 20 pin can work, but overclocking is probably a bad idea. Use the 20 pin w/o the 20 to 24 addapter for the time being if you can. Check out dfi-street.com for more on this board. Recomended PSUs Check out hardocp.com forms. There's a...
DFI strongly recomends a real 24 pin PSU and Definatly NOT to use a 20 to 24 pin addapter. If you just bought that PSU take/send it back and get a real 24 pin PSU. (read in this thread around page 7 also)
I moded my Ultra-D to SLI and it shows up as an SLI now on the boot screen, but I got mine awhile back from ZipZoomFly. Rev.02 according to the sticker and .03 acording to Ntune.
I think I read that the Asus bridge (or maybe another board) won't work because it's a differnt width between the...
I also had trouble with HyperX. Luckly I was planning on using some OCZ I had in my old machine, but I had just gotten the HyperX so I tried it out and couldn't get it to work at all.
I've tried runing the auto tune for quiet and it seems to just keep running and running. (for well over 20 minutes) and trying the system performance it locked up near the end. Can you acutally get it to auto tune?
Unless some one has a better idea, I'd say looking at it is the only way, unless they've changed the revision number of the board or something. What revision do you have? It's on a sticker on the bottom pci slot. (not the top pcie slot which also has a sticker) It's a pain to see if you've...
I had some issues when I hooked up my case front mic & headphone jacks to the Karajan modual. If I didn't have my mic pluged in the sound was staticy and distorted and but if I pluged in in it was fine. Now, for some reason this issue went away. I'm not sure what happend. Maybe something was...
I'd say don't go with this board if you don't want to mess with tweaking it. It seems to be quite fussy with RAM and only recomended for tweakers. (unless they can get a bios that works well with everything)
What's a good program to monitor diod temps not that Mobo Monitor isn't updated anymore?
How about a program to tweek voltages and clock speeds from windows that supports NF4?
try the 201 bios. I think it's linked some where in this thread. I had the same problem with some Kingston HyperX. You shouldn't need the DFI raid floppy if not running RAID.
Also, check out dfi-street.com
I get a XP install BSoD w/o having droped my HD on the floor. :disgust: (bad_pool_caller error or something like that after it starts looking for current system setup in the install)
However, I can install the XP 64 bit RC2 just fine?
Can any one tell my why I can install and run 64 bit...
I didn't have any SP2 problems. I've got SP1 and a SP2 update disk like darkSwordsman.
Updating my previous post, I ran memtest all night on a single stick with no errors, so I guess my mem is ok. I'm running it all today on both sticks. I tried voltage upto 3V on the single stick to try and...
My system has been up and running for a day or so and was playing some CS:source all of last night and it was working great. Today I was just doing some web/photoshop work on it and all the programs stoped responding but I could still move my mouse and drag windows. I couldn't get to the task...
I've been messing with the Karajan front inputs and have discovered an issue with the mic. First, I'm using an Antec P160 case. (just reviewed on AnAnd here Finally)
I'm hooking the front inputs from that case to the Karajan modual and 1) there aren't the same number of connections for the...
For the record I'm runing the Ultra-D with a Antch 380 Trupower (20 pin) PSU and it works fine. I don't think I'll try to overclock (or not much) with it though till I get a 24 pin with more powere.
What's normal temp for a stock HSF? Mine's running really hot (I think). Acording to Mobo monitor it's 156F (69C)! (again I'm not sure that's the CPU or what or if Mobo Monitor even supports this board correctly) However, when I look in bios it's only like 33C. Is there a better way to monitor...
Thanks Tyson95. I wonder why I couldn't find it?
Yeah, my fan is touching the sound modual but it's ok.
I had that problem too. Just open the CD in and go to the manual directory and open the LP NF4.pdf
UPDATE on previous problems: I got my board working finally. (after working on it all...
I'm having this problem too. (and much more) I can't get it to install Windows. I hangs on the "Setup is inspecting your computers hardware config..." when booting off the XP cd. See my post here also for more details.
