So I installed this the other day using Artic silver 5. Temps went from 38C idle to 63-68C idle, haven't tried it under load for good reason. Any idea's what the hell might be the problem? Is the fan supposed to push air with the back side of the "scoops"? Seemed kinda inefficient to me but...
Just wondering who has done this and how they did it. I've been looking for write-ups on it but most are for a heatsink that you can get wet and really move around. Since this has to stay stationary I was wondering what others have done.
I'm looking at the filterright aluminum filter. Has anyone used this before? I'd like to add a few filters to my case but would like to retain as much flow as possible. Any cheap and easy to shape material anyone has used to make their own?
Since I'm setting up a custom fan/baffle arrangment, I'm looking for the biggest possible fanless heatsink (preferably copper) that will fit my card. So far this is the only compatible item that I've found. Will any regular cpu sinks work?
Newbie question here. I'm working on case air flow dynamics and am wondering which option is more efficient. I realize that the heat spreaders cover both sides of the ram but would ram-sinks do a better job of getting rid of the heat? I'm working on some baffles inside my case to run air...
