    Portable DVD Player Issues

Hi all, I was recently given a Sony portable DVD player (model DVP-FX700) by some random guy at my gym with the knowledge that it didn't work quite right, and if I could fix it, I could keep it. The problem with the unit is that DVD playback will begin, but will freeze after a few minutes of...

SODIMM -> DIMM Converter for DDR- Does It Exist?

Ok, so you're probably wondering why I would want a SODIMM to DIMM converter for DDR memory. I have a secondary desktop in which I want to install more RAM. I also have 2 512MB SODIMMs that I'm not using. Does some sort of converter exist that would allow me to use these SODIMMs in this...

    Overclocking a P4 in a Dell

I'm pretty sure that I already know the answer to this but I figure I'll ask anyway. Does anyone know of any way that I can overclock the 2.4 GHZ P4 in a Dell Dimension 4600? I'm also not looking for real big gains here, only in the neighborhood of between 2.6 and 3 GHZ.

Windows XP fails to recognize true harddrive size (because of Maxtor)

That's because hard drive manufacturers define a gigabyte as 1 GB = 1 billion bytes. Windows on the other hand (I'm not sure about other OS's) uses a standard that says 1 GB = 1,073,741,824 bytes. The size of your hard drive will always appear smaller in Windows than what your manufacturer says...

    Mac Mini

Agree with you there. I will say that OS X is much simpler and straightforward.

    Mac Mini

Like what? Put it on display in an art gallery? However, I must say kudos to Apple. I'll make no bones about the fact that I am a PC guy, but the Mac Mini has me considering buying an Apple (exactly what they are going for here, to state the obvious). Maybe this could be the start of a...

    Laptop processor upgrade

I have a eMachines M5405 with a Mobile Sempron 2800+. For the price ($600 after rebate, whenever that gets here), it is a great machine, but it's performance leaves a little to be desired for things like Photoshop and Flash. I was wondering if it is feasible to upgrade the Sempron processor to...
