I know the Shuttle K45 has a limit of 2GB of maximum memory but can I use a single 2GB DIMM instead of 2x1GB? I had some spare 2GB DDR2 DIMMS already and would rather use them than buy new memory.
Sorry that's not the same one we have but it does look like it would use the same cables. They would be proprietary cables that you have to get from Cybex.
If his MSA1500 is using Fibre Channel then it won't has an IP address on the display. This is only for devies connected by iSCSI. Brocade switches have a console port on them that you should try first. Brocade used to have a utility on their site to do password recovery on their Fibre Channel...
How many ports is it? I think we still have one of these in our lab at work. It's always been reliable but it used special cables and not standard PS/2 cables. The one we have has 25 pin connections that break out into seperate keyboard, mouse and video connections.
Almost all NICs made within the past few years support Wake On LAN (WOL). This site has a program you can use to "wake" your server from another PC. You can also initiate the magic packet from their website but you need to configure your router to forward the port number (7 is the default).
I have an Antec TruePower 380S PSu from my Sonata case and I just bought a new build and starting to have doubts about my PSU now. The new build is
C2D E6400
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R
Corsair 2x1GB DDR2-667
GeForce 8500GT
Seagate 160GB
TDK CD/RW
Pioneer DVD-RW
Will my current PSU be...
Instead of spending all the time archiving the data to DVD why not just purchase an external HD and back it up onto there? Then just turn the drive off and put it in a safe place. It should be reasonably safe as long as it's not powered on.
Any good calendaring program should do this. If you use Outlook for email the built-in calendar with do this. An open source alternative would be Sunbird which does calendaring.
I was just coming here to post about this also. Sometimes it's very fast and other times it just crawls. It seems it's been this way since the upgrade...
Thanks for the recommendations. I was looking at a 7600GS also and see that it usually matches or beats the X800GTO in most bechmarks. Plus I can get it with a silent cooler. Any recommendations on a card? The two I was looking at are:
Gigabyte GV-NX76G256D-RH
XFX PVT73PUDJ3
A 7600GT...
I'm getting ready to build a new Core 2 Duo PC and I'm trying to decide on a graphics card. I'm not a big gamer, mostly Warcraft 3 and a little CS:S. I've been looking at either a X1600 Pro or an X800GTO. I know the X800GTO is an older card than the X1600 Pro but from what I've seen it's also...
Monad or MSH is to be included with Exchange 2007. Monad will be released sperately at that time. So you should see MSH within 6-8 months after the Vista launch.
I can't wait for MSH. I've been using the beta for a while now and it's very powerful.
Can you tell which process is using the all the CPU power when you copy? Some antivirus programs can eat up a lot of CPU cycles as files come over the network.
Hostname is not the same thing as the computer name in Windows. In Windows the computername is bound to your SID in Active Directory (or in the SAM in NT 4.0). Changing the computername on a Windows machine and not letting it change in AD would reck havoc on your AD infrastructure. Your...
I recommend doing what I just did recently. Look on Ebay for a Laserjet 4000/4050 series. You can usually get them for between 150-200 bucks and they are bullet proof. We have a number of them at work with over 1.5 million pages on them. The only thing you really need to change on them are...
AD=Active Directory. Windows 2000 Server will NOT shut down that drive if you have the NTFRS service running. The NTFRS service constantly polls the drive for changes in the SYSVOL folder. Also this service was never designed with Power Management in mind. Power managment normally would not...
Let me guess your running AD on this machine also and it's a DC right? If so it won't spin the drive down because AD rights to it's log files constantly.
This install of XP originally started out as a Windows 2000 install back around the end of 2000. I upgraded to XP and it's been through 2 motherboard changes too. I don't forsee any reason to reinstall XP anytime soon either.
I've gotten onsite next day support on Dell laptops before. As a matter of fact when one of our salesmen dropped the laptop and broke the screen they came the next day to replace it. Of course we had Complete Care coverage so it covers accidents like that. I've also called Microsoft about a...
Hibernation saves all data in RAM to the hard disk and then turns the machine off. Standby keeps the RAM powered but puts the machine into a low power mode.
Hmmmm I did not know that. I run a domain at home (SBS 2003) and I like having all my machines in a single domain. However if it breaks the extender functionality I may have to leave this one out of the domain. I assume this is because when a machine is on the domain "Fast User Switching" is...
