So i lived in new orleans and my computer had been sitting under water for about 4 weeks...I think i already know the answer, but wanted to know if anybody knew more about this than me. Will any parts of my computer be salvagable? I can understand that the hard drives are damaged and the data...
i'm looking at the manual right now, but it doesn't say anything about the jumpers on the module. it identifies the pins, but doesn't say where the jumpers should be.
need some help please.
I just installed my new nforce4 ultra and i'm not getting any sound. The drivers are installed and everything shows up fine in device manager. I'm just not getting any sound. The 3.5mm jack is plugged into the correct output (top middle) and there's no audio...
bunnyfubbles.
wow, you're rig is virtually identical to the one i'm building at the end of this week. only difference is the kind of RAM, haha. Let me know how stable it is with the x800xl. mine will be here later today, but i won't have all the parts to build until the end of this week.
it shouldn't be a problem. I've reinstalled windows xp pro numerous times on my machine w/o a problem. And if it doesn't go smoothly, just do what MrChad said.
I'm also considering buying this board. Will a 400W power supply be sufficient to power this board and do other SLI boards use less power? I plan on using a A64 3000+ and 6600gt and will most likely upgrade those at a later time and wouldn't want to have to buy a new power supply at that time...
Has anyone heard of any issues with the k8t890 chipset having problems with 4 dimms? I've heard that the nforce4 will lower the speed of the RAM if there are more than 2 DDR modules running. I ask since i've already bought 4x512mb modules and planned on putting them in my new system.
The ti4200 won't play games at 1280x1024, i barely get my games to run at 1024x768...
i guess my question is, does it worth getting a 19" lcd over 17" lcd since you get the same native resolution.
i'd love to get one that has dvi, but i can get these two for incredibly cheap....the 17" for less than 300, and the 19" for less than 450. if you can find a decent lcd w/ dvi in that price range please post :)
I'm trying to decide on an upgrade and don't really know how i want to spend my money yet. I'm on a limited budget since i'm a college student. here's my current rig:
everything is running @ stock speeds
amd athlon 1700+
abit kr7a-raid MOBO
768mb pc2700 RAM
Geforce4 ti4200 64mb RAM
160gb...
you also may want to consider how often you upgrade...if you're someone that upgrades their cpu or mobo every 12 to 24 months you'd be just fine with a barton. On the other hand, if you're someone that likes to stick with what they have for a while (like my parents who had a pentium 2 300mhz up...
You also may want to find out why we have only 19,000 troops in Afghanistan and continue a friendship with Pakistan where Osama Bin Laden is known to hide. Keep in mind, this is the man that we are going to war with other countries for to find. Yet we have nearly 100,000 troops far away in Iraq...
You're absolutely correct on this one. The best way to survive a elevator free fall is to brace yourself against an elevator wall w/ you knees slightly bent. Your knees help absorb some of the shock and you're suppose to grab on to a handrail or something to help decelerate yourself. I...
is the PC producing any beeping sounds? Also, you might want to try to hear or touch the hd while the computer is on to see if it spins up or clicks.
Edit: Also, try resetting the CMOS (this is usually done by jumper settings)
how does a ti4200 compare to the fx5200? I have a ti4200, and albeit didn't play at the highest frame rates or all the options turned, it was playable and not too terrible. I know a new card would do much better and would allow me to turn up all the options, but i know where to set my limits...
yes, everything at stock speeds...here's the specs
p4 Prescott 2.4ghz 533mhz bus
2 x 256mb Pc3200 Kingston Ram
MOBO ECS 848p-a
and as for the vid card, i started out w/ a
1) ti4200 64mb Chaintech
2) then i recieved a Megaspeed fx5200 128mb
3) right now i'm running a ati radeon...
Thanks for the advice. I'm reinstalling windows with a radeon 9000 now. I'll install the board drivers first thing and then the radeon drivers. Hopefully this'll do the job.
I just built a computer for my parents a couple of weeks ago and after burning it in for ~24 hours the ti4200 i bought for it started displaying orange stripes...so about 2 weeks later I get a replacement fx5200 (i know it sucks, but its for the 'rents) Again, after about 36 hours i'm seeing a...

the site claims itself that these aren't actual stats but are "forecasts" Try using babblefish to translate it and you'll see.
It also says that this is only speculative and that it was only to be posted in their forums so they wouldn't lose their credibility for posting fake material.
Of the different brands of Whey protein, which brand tastes the best? I've been familiar with Cytosport products but haven't tried their whey protein. Anyone have any input? Thanks.
I just recieved some memory i bought for my laptop: 256mb Infineon Technologies 144 pin CL2 PC100
but after installing it I'm recieving an error that says Memory Error at offset.
Does anyone know why this is happening? also, What brands of memory would you recommend for me? Thanks.
P.S...
Another quick question...Right now i'm running Win98SE w/ 128 mb RAM. How well (or how terrible) will WinXP run? Am i better off sticking to Win98SE until i buy more RAM? Thanks for the help.
