I'm looking forward to it, thanks!
That's the same SSD I was speaking of, it is about 20 bucks cheaper on Amazon currently, seems like the best bang for the buck on a reliable SSD with decent capacity. Currently there is a MSI 970 for like $25 more than the 290x you listed, I think it's...
I've run a few Asus boards in years past, albeit it's been about 9-10 years since the last one. I ran one Gigabyte, and it was mediocre at best, but again that was 15 years ago. The last few MSi boards have done me really well. I liked the Asus boards, but the customer support left a lot to be...
I tend to build a new pc every 4-5 years, with little to no upgrading between.
Current system:

8 GB DDR3 1333
Radeon 6970 2gb slight OC
MSi P67A-GD65 Rev B3

120gb SSD for boot/ a few games

Corsair TX750W

Thanks guys, I didn't use any fiber washers because the mobo didn't come with them. I don't think that was causing it though.. I found that I accidently put an extra standoff on the case, and I think that was contacting the mobo and causing it to short.... Hooray for an upright case.
Alright, so I got my new build together.. installed vista, started o/cing and whatnot. So I was satisfied where I was at and decided to stand it up (It's easier to reset cmos etc with it on its side).
So I go to stand it up, powers down. I think hmm maybe something came loose? I make sure all...
Eh, there hasn't been a thread that someone would deem official, so I guess you get a cookie for doing that.
As for your quote, they are stating that in 10 days since beta opened that over 200k people signed up for the beta. You misunderstood them, this was over on the WHA forums when mythic...
They opened it up on may 30th or 31st. I remember signing up on the 31st... so its def been open for about a month now.
They also originally planned on releasing it Dec 2007, but pushed back to Feb 08 I do believe. Thanks for the post but it isn't exactly new news.
The key to enjoying life is happiness. So what if someone's definition of happiness doesn't match yours, let them have their way and you have yours. So if some kid that is dying finds enjoyment in playing WoW, so be it. Sure he could do other things if he isn't stuck to a hospital environment...
From looking over the site I'd say the game is at least 1 year away, probably closer to 2. Really excited for this game... anticipation is gonna be a bitch.
So, there is time to add new features, and polish up the graphics, although I like them very much. They did state as posted earlier...
Official Link
Well, its official. Screenshots on the site, cinematic trailer (perhaps part of the intro?), and some new protoss units with descriptions on the site. They have some wallpapers, artwork, etc.
Gameplay trailer to be uploaded on 5/20 (tomorrow).
Hooray!
Ahh... the trains of Karnor's, the farming of old seb. I remember pulling as a cleric to a group of wizards/mages/pally tank for AE domination. Farming for my Donal's set. Killing trak for the first time... getting my epic weapon. Memories *tear*... Man I don't think anything will ever live up...
Nope, meant less room for error. If one person goes afk at the wrong time, casts the wrong spell, misses a heal etc- its going to be felt more in the raid. Also going to be harder to recover from. In BWL if one healer went OOM, playing alliance we had time to let a paladin's blessing of light +...
Less people = Less room for error. Makes it more challenging IMO. Its not like you will be with the exact same 25, if you had 40 people pre-BC then you will still be raiding with the same core people I'd think. Maybe 2 raid teams in a guild etc. My first MMO was Everquest, so I liked the idea of...
Yea trying to decide if it is worth it to step up with the 6600 since it seems the 6420 OC's just as well, just figured since some places include Supreme Commander and I don't have it yet... that it might be worth the extra bit since you basically get it at no additional cost.
As far as the...
Alright so currently have an aging AMD 3700+ (Single core oh noes!), 1gb Micron xp4000+, Sapphire x850xt, two 74gb raptors in raid0, pcp&c 510 turbo-cool deluxe, stuffed into a Thermaltake Armor case. Currently running Windows XP Home. Displayed on a Dell 2005 FPW at 1680x1050

Anyone else see 4gb (2x 2gb) coming down in price to go along with Vista's hunger for memory? Kind of like how 1gb kit prices dropped like a rock when 2gb became the "standard" for gaming/higher end PCs. Tempted to hop on one of these 2gb ddr2 kit hot deals for the new build I'm going to do here...
Wish I had a Compusa closer to me than 2+ hours away =\. Maybe if I just go on my bike with a backpack it'll be worth it. Will only cost me 10 bucks or so in gas that way. Houston traffic on my bike though *shudder*
I wouldn't go as far as to say that nothing is better than WoW, depends on your likes and playstyle. WoW is clearly the dominant mmorpg in the subscription area with something like 9 million subs.
LOTRO seems to be creating a bit of stir in the MMORPG world. I am currently a fan of Vanguard...
WoW actually made their way into the market on the warcraft name bringing people in AND the strong point was also that it is "casual friendly" while still rewarding the hardcore. I played both styles and quit mid-way into AQ as being in a top 3 guild on the server, being the main hunter blah...
A membership at a local gym will benefit you much more. Freeweights= the way to go. I do a few things on cables, but mostly freeweights. Also I hope you don't think just because that guy has some size he is "roided out". Of course he doesn't use bowflex, but believe me that size is easily...
In any job I wouldn't show up to work late without good reason (car problems/family emergency, etc). I don't care where you work, being reliable is very important. If your manager/supervisor cant trust you to show up on time, then what good is it to keep you there? There is someone that will do...
Hopefully I can still get one. I'll try sams if wal-mart is out, and hope they have some. I'll stand in line, just can't stand in line for many hours. You are right though, my job that is what allowed me to earn the money for the xbox is more important, bodybuilding is more important(I can delay...
Not think I'm saving money. I will be saving money. MS might make the same amount, so good for them, everyone wins then with the premium. MS Makes the same amount, you save 80 bucks. Only one losing out there I see would be the reseller, such as wal-mart, best buy, etc.
Yea because I have a job, because I have bills to pay so I can't take that day off, because I have class. I work, I'm a full time student, and am pursuing a career in professional bodybuilding, so I don't have 13 hours to stand in line. I will stand in line, but can't justify missing class in...
There are different standards of ethics, including moral ethics. Most schools of ethics would find price gouging unethical. MS isn't the most ethical company, but why would they make as many core systems as premium? Most people are going to opt for the premium. Why? Hard drive for one(need it...
Usually true, in dealing with companies. In this case the xbox hoarders could be seen as one collective unit, shorting the supply for their profit. They, unlike companies, aren't going to be very competitive on price. Actually most will go "Hmm that guy has sold 3 for 900 dollars, that is what...
Ever heard of business ethics?
If someone else is willing to pay that, that is their problem. The problem I have is that I might not get one because the guy standing in front of me that had camped out for 12 hours or something of the sort wants to buy 10+ of them. If there was weekly...
Nothing in particular, just laws in general. Sometimes monopoly laws can be a good thing, sometimes not. Overall the laws in place are better there than not for the most part. Of course there are exceptions, always will be.
Never said anything about food, that is a need. I said a generator. I've seen it first hand thanks to Hurricane Rita. A generator is a luxury item. I didn't need one to survive, and didn't have one until about 2 weeks after the hurricane, and guess what... it was only big enough to run a fridge...
Nice mis-read. I didn't say buy straight from MS, did I? These are established companies, such as wal-mart, best buy, circuit city, etc. They have a lot to lose by trying to price gouge.
This guy is taking a huge financial risk? My ass. If he doesn't sell them, he returns them for a full...
I don't pay for items that are price gouged.
Forcing prices? No, not saying that. I'm not saying MS should sell it for such and such price. That would be forcing prices. Saying that price gouging and such shouldn't be allowed, and only 1-2 per person should be allowed on release day, to me...
