    6800GT Problem

    1. Go into the Core Cell Menu in the BIOS. 2. Press Shift+F2 If an NV/ATI Speed Up option comes up, make sure it is disabled. If not, then my advice might not apply to your board. Maybe play with the memory speeds, as some people have noticed that if the memory and GPU speed are out of...

    6800GT Problem

The problem you are having, I think, is that the MSI boards often overclock video cards by default through hidden settings in the BIOS. To a search on this. It is called NV/ATI Speedup or something like that and, while in the advanced menu where you can change clock frequencies in the BIOS...

Yeah, but two 6600GT's are still better than one 6600GT when one of anything more powerful is crazy expensive.

Recommended system for newsgroup downloads, Winrar?

Trust me, I've done exactly what you plan on both fast A64 Systems and a Mid-High End P4 System and I can say, without a doubt, that those tasks were a joy on the P4 system and sluggish at best on the A64 systems (both NF3 and NF4). I wouldn't trade my A64 system for the world, as games are...

Dear TheNiceGuy, The only logical piece of information you have gotten has been from Garion. First, go into the BIOS of both the new and old computers and disable "Wake On Lan". Next, go to the system properties/device manager on both computers and check to see if Wake on Lan is...

Adding bandwidth to existing connection using public wifi signals?

Actually, I believe it is possible, but the download speed from a single source would still not be 6 mbps. You could, however, possibly download separate things at the same time, giving you a combined total of 6 mbps from the two different sources.

3500 Winchester Running at 57C idle, 60+C (and crashing) in 3D applications

Yeah, did you remove the stock heatsink putty before putting on the thermal greese? What is your voltage to the CPU? Also, Abit's motherboards report temperatures, on average, 7-10 degrees C. higher than other manufactureres. According to the FAQ on their website, this is due to the fact that...

    *** Official ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe (nForce4) Thread ***

Oh, by the way. One good thing is that my system is Prime95 stable at 270 HTT with the HT at 4x, giving 1080 mhz. This is faster than the BUS would run with my nForce3 chipset. Not that this makes much of a real world difference, but it's fun to have.

New official bios release for A8N-SLI

1004-001 is a beta BIOS. The regular BIOS numbers don't have revisions after the number (e.g., final would be 1003, whereas a beta release would be something like 1003-002).

    nForce2 Mobos' capacitors leaking

Many motherboards made during a certain period had faulty caps. I've had this problem with an MSI, Socket 370 mobo. The only thing you can do is contact the manufacturer and hope that they'll fix the board. Otherwise, you can try to find some new caps and break out the soldering iron. Dave

    Asus A8N-SLI Overclokers

What you fail to realize user1234 is that AT ran the memory at 1:1 at all times and only played with the CPU multipier and HTT speed. Just because a faster memory speed, with the CPU speed remaining constant, doesn't increase performance by a significant margin, it doesn't follow that you...

Another A8N SLI Issue....system hangs in windows!

Another A8N SLI Issue....system hangs in windows!

Wait a minute. A BSOD in Windows XP is, 99 - 100% of the time a hardware or BIOS problem. I've built countless computers and fixed a zillion more and, I have never seen a blue screen in WinXP without a hardware problem to back it up. This creates software problems, but they are not the root...

Asus A8N-SLI New Beta Bios 1003-006!

I second that. I just tested it and the 240 mhz memory barrier (at 1T) and voltage problems are still there. I hope this isn't a problem with the board. Asus has about a month or so, until the DFI board is available at decent prices, to fix this problem.

Yes, it is a problem with the board/BIOS. Mine does the same thing and it is a pain heatwise. There is definitely a problem with this board when trying run memory much over 240 mhz, even if the RAM is rated for a higher speed. Run it at 240 mhz, run memtest, then leave it there until Asus...

ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe... overclocking success / oddities

My previous platform was, in fact, an A64. The 3000+ 90nm on, surprise, and MSI Neo2 Platinum. My OCZ EL Plat Rev.2 would overclock to 285 at 2.8 volts (3 4 4 10), or 275 at 2.8 volts (2.5 4 4 10). I was finally running it all at 272 x 9, the highest stable OC I could get with my 3000+ on...
