Lian Li PC-61 or Cooler Master Praetorian Case?

Praetorian is loud, due to the all aluminum enclosure. I've got silent parts on the inside [Zalman flower cooler for CPU, flower cooler for GPU, Samsung Nidec drives], and it does nothing b/c of the four 80mm fans, and the inherent vibration quality of the metal. I'd think about it before you...

    i wanna sleep in quietness...

I've always found that having a "Silent Computer" and having one that looks cool as well is sort of hard. I would also advise against water-cooling. There are many solutions that you can take to get to have a more quiet computer by just using air. My initial suggestion would be to stop each...

    The upcoming CM WaveMasterII

I would have liked 12cm intakes and exhausts too. I don't think people want 6 8cm fans in their case anymore - they want to be able to sleep with the computer in their room ;). On the terms of pure asthetics - it looks alright. It's all about getting the case to sell - some people like that look.

    Best 80mm Fan? PLEASE ANSWER!!!!

if you don't care about price, and you're not just some panaflo freak, you should try a sample of many different companies. by ethics, i wouldn't deal with silenx, as one of their CReps was faking praise on silentpcreview.com, but i would look into getting nexus, or any low speed yate loon fan...

I need quiet 80 mm case fans for my Coolermaster Praetorian.

i have the same case - i bought a vantec nexus fan controller, and it works pretty well. you also might want to consider getting a quiet GPU fan, as well as suspending your hd to reduce vibrations. good luck.

Hah, I am so screwed... Enlight case review, plus more on my screwedness.

dude. you're asking for a whole lot of work, in autocad or on graph paper, a lot of cut fingers, and mb a cruddy result. suggestion: mod a premade matx, and fit it to your needs. i'm in your situation with the dorm computer and silence. my current interest in terms of matx cases that fit...

    CLEAR CASES PROS ASND CONS

like Mucker said - 80mm are for losers =p. get one with 120s - much quieter, assuming you get the right fans.

im having 2end thoghts on my new comp

my suggestion is to buy mid to high end parts, and not top of the line, unless you can find a great deal for them. the total for my computer was 1500 without a monitor, and i was sorely disappointed in some respects, including a motherboard that i didn't really need, and the fact that my case...

Looking for a recommendation for a CPU fan

get an xp-120 with a compatible motherboard, then get one of these fans: Yate Loon Blue LED fan. Although it's only 7 bucks, it doesn't break 2500 rpm, and it's quiet. if that's not your style, you can also try to get the non-led orange version that only goes to 1200 rpms. it's a big hit...

Dell new 20" wide LCD 2005FPW. Has anyone seen this beast?

A01, Jan 2005 = worse backlighting than the original, and there are 2 green pixels that are stuck. I shall try the rub and pray, even though the backlighting isn't any better, just so that whoever ends up getting this might have a dead pixel free monitor. I'm happy with my original monitor...

MartinCracauer - it's always better to find a solution than wrecking yourself trying to find what you really want. screw saving money, time is more important. i think Reiniku is right about the x800xl only being for PCI-Express - I haven't seen any info about it being available for AGP...

abit ic7 vs asus p4c800 ( not deluxe ver.)

i've got an ic7-max3 and it's pretty good - asus is good as well. i'd say it's a throw up of your personal preference =p. sorry that this was of no help. but here's a tidbit - if you want passive, asus does passive cooling on NB. if you want a whiny butt fan, abit does that real well.

mATX s478 board with minor overclocking, funny comments

i've been looking at that thing for a while - i'm always on the edge, wondering if i should buy it or not. i might take the plunge and put a 2.0 533 in it. it looks good enough on paper, and foxconn is a reputable builder. i'd sway a little bit more towards buying it, but it's your choice. i...

coolermaster is a great case, till you end up accidentally denting one of the panels 2 weeks after you get it. you also gotta deal with the fact that there are 4 loud 80mm fans. but it looks great - haven't found any other case like it. currently, i'm inclined towards that new silverstone...

Best 80mm fan in my situation?

CAN YOu HEAR ME NOW?[/horrible joke] seriously, you're gonna be deaf when you're older if you live with 116cfm - i think every 10 decibels the noise doubles in strength. computer fans are not like the equipment downstairs - the more you have doesn't make you more of a man, nor does it make...

    shuttle motherboards for p4 478

    120mm Case Fans

i've heard that silenx is a bit of a shady company, and they boosted their own rep on www.silentpcreview.com i suggest nexus, especially since someone found a stock retailer for their fans, and you might be able to get them real cheap. the manufacturer of nexus fans are yate loon. look it up...

ditch the fans, get a new case and two 120mm Nexus fans. most quiet fans, especially with a fan controller (zalman). get the biggest heatsink you can, and another 120mm nexus. that's 3 fans total. for the 9800pro AIW, check if the Zalman dual pipe cooler fits it, and then get that. less...
