I have 512MB of crappy Smart Modular Technologies (SMT) RAM and a p4 3.0GHz Northwood processor. I attempted to overclock it to 3.06 just to see how much my temps would rise (I figured not much) and when i set the frequency (using CPUCool), my Windows froze within seconds. I am wondering if...
nah, my mobo is good for monitoring usually...but i mean, cmon...a 1.5V deviation when reporting the VCore is ridiculous. Cant be mobos fault unless it just does not like cpu-z
cpu-z is saying my cpu voltage is around 3V. of course this is impossible or i would not be able to post about it. anyone know why this is? im pretty sure it is really like 1.52
I never heard of anyone doing this and I dont see how it would be impossible...anyone know?
EDIT: sorry, just realized this belongs in CPU/Processors/Overclocking
I have three Coolmax round cables in my shopping cart at tigerdirect.com. A 12" floppy, an 18" two-device IDE, and a 12" single-device IDE. The total with shipping is $21.96. Think this is a decent deal? here is a pic of what the cables look like btw...
Would home depot sell this or do most auto stores sell it? I'm looking for a variety of sizes....1/4"and 1/2". Looking to tidy up my case.
btw...i dont want to buy it online.
now that i think about the physics, it doesn't seem like it would make a difference. The air coming into and out of the bottom fan is going to be the same speed as the air coming out of the top fan..i dunno...suggestions still welcome
seems like a good idea to layer my 80mm intake fans. Never really thought of doing it before...anyone ever try this?
EDIT: Just in case anyone is confused, by "layering" i mean stacking.
every time i try to delete this empty folder i get an error that says: "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from source file or disk." I dont get it...the folder is on my secondary hdd which is connected (i know this because I can access other things on it). I know its not a big deal but I can't...
Why does everyone overlook the old chieftec cases these days...ithey really still hold their own against the latest cases....they are extremely cheap for their quality.
yeah btx is awkward and probably will not catch on...plus, there's always gonna be people who want big desktops. People like space when they're working inside...i know i do
ugh, vanity plates...why do people get plates that say stuff like "MD BABY" or "2FAST4U"...if you do something stupid, it'll be easier for people to remember your license plate. And anyone who would want a vanity plate is likely to do something stupid in a car.
I've been saying more and more things inside me head and I get more and more paranoid and unsure of whether I said something outloud...it's kinda scary. This happen to anyone else?
You do not need win95 or any other pre-winxp version of windows in order to install XP unless you are installing the WinXP Upgrade Edition.
About formatting one hd and leaving the other....I don't see why not.
EDIT: first do as Psycho said though...check your BIOS boot settings cause your...
I have a chieftec matrix case whichas most of you probably know has removable hdd cages. My question is..is it better to put the hdd at the top/middle of the cage (with circuitry facing down) or at the bottom of the cage (also, with circuitry facing down)?
Here's a pic for absolute...
What is G. Skill?...Never heard of that RAM manufacturer.
Go for a SATA drive if you're only gonna get 1 hdd.
I agree with Kensai on the mobo issue.
