Hello Everyone. Its been a while since I last posted here but I know there is no better place to get good recomendations. I am currently building computers for an Advertising company, here in Mexico. They do not need Quadro or FireGL since they don't do any rendering whatsoever, so I'm...

abit KN9 SLI and Opteron 1210

Hello everyone. I know the main difference between and X2 and an Opteron is the cache (2x1MB for Opteron). Sauf that, they are practicaly identical. I wish to check with you guys if there would be no problem with the motherboard mentioned. I know that there shouldn't be, in theory, but...

I'm an average user. I use document, spread-sheet and presentation creation programs, I chat a lot by MSN, listen to music and browse a lot. I've tested Windows VISTA through and through (I have all the TechNET courses passed and most WebCASTS taken) and have used it in more than a couple...

Do Intel dual core CPU's need reghacks and drivers?

Hello all. As you can see in my signature, I have a Pentium D 805 @ 3.33Ghz. I was wondering if I need the reghack and a special driver or MS parch for my setup to work at 100%, like AMD CPU's do? Just for the fun of it, I tried the /usepmtimer - boot.ini thing, and I swear I feel my...

Just got my ACER AL1916B 19" LCD monitor

I just got this baby for less than 280usd, which I consider a bargain. Its really nice. Big. No dead pixels. Nice contrast, good brightness, cheap... its nice. I like it and I feel happy about it. It has a 12ms response time, which is average to say the least, but its used for office tasks...

AMD fanboi working for Intel money

Hi. I love AMD. Have AMD. Eveything AMD. Just got a job as Product Manager and I am in charge of the Intel brand, so I have to convince people that Intel rUleZzZ if I want to keep my job and earn money. That's all I have to say about that.

    Now isn't this ironic?

AMD64 was born... from Barton, and added on die memory controller and increased cache size. From there, it has been minor tweaks and its had new instructions added. So the best processors in the market now, are based (90%, according to AT on their first review on Athlon 64) on an almost 6...

Want to hear a joke? Paxville. Wanna hear a better joke? Just listen to Mike Dell say its the best thing since sliced bread. Want to know what's even funnier? Its performance, price, availability and compatibility is sooooo low and scarce... that its not funny any more. Bad Intel...

    *NOTHING* beats my SONY

So I got today my new VIEWSONIC E90fb. Crispy looks. Plugged it to my computer, and to make long story short, no matter how much I configured it, I couldn't make it look as crispy and sharp as my 4 year old Sony G400. I've compared it to Dell Ultrasharp (which have been closest, but not...

http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=20551# My motherboard is an ABIT KV8 Pro. Its says its not compatible with standard ATX and ATX12V, but is it because of the 24 pins? It has a 36A 12V rail... I can get it for 110usd. What do you all think? Should I get it?

Why would anyone want DDR2, anyways?

I just got an Intel i915PGNL motherboard, that uses DDR400 memory. Works pretty much ok. Crispy performance, so everything is nice. A little picky with memory modules (had to use Kingston, otherwise the other cheapo modules would be detected as DDR333 and cause some problems). Anyways, I was...

    Firefox startup times

I've noticed that on my 530J w/1Gb DDR400 915P mobo, it takes about 4 to 5 seconds. My OCed A64 @ 2.2Ghz loads it in about 3-5 seconds, just right after a windows reboot. Both of these configs have SATA Western Digital HDDs. What are your load times?
