    Tom's Fan Failure Test

thats the reason I said we know nothing about accuracy toms test. And I said it, because I owned an Asus M2N deluxe and It overvolted processor like hell (If I set voltage to auto, and cpu vcore default is 1.35, it overvolted it to 1.45v, figure it. If I set manually to for example 1.30, it...

    Tom's Fan Failure Test

not at all. We don't know real voltages (some mobos overvolt cpu with voltage set to "auto", others undervolt), we don't know temperatures, in fact we know basically nothing about the accuracy of this "test".

    AT Barcelona previews are up

How do you know 1.52v is correct? I've seen a lot of errors (and BIG) with CPU-z reading vcore (a lot, and BIG difference with real vcore in cpus launched months ago -X2 or C2D-, so I can't imagine how incorrect can it be with one new).

wrong. Barcelona (probably at 2.3-2.4mhz) 42% faster than Clovertown (Xeon 5355 quad 2.66mhz) in fp_rate. 9% faster in int_rate.

    65nm 4400+ X2 review

I seems a bit more than 975 http://www.hothardware.com/viewarticle.aspx?page=17&articleid=845&cid=1 btw, looking at this hothardware link, we can obtain some interesting numbers between 975 and nf4 SLI. It seems nf4 SLI consumes about 25-30W more than i975 (look at X6800 configurations)...

    65nm 4400+ X2 review

well, if a X2 2.3ghz 0.65nm consumes at full load the same power (whole system) than a 1.86ghz C2D, and we keep in mind nvidia SLI chipset consumes more power than i975, we can conclude that a 2.3ghz X2 consumes less power at full load than a C2D 1.86ghz. And thats is impressive IMHO ;)

First news of Yorkfield XE (Penryn) and K8L Quads: Q3-2007

haha well I saw it a lot of years ago for first time, but only some months ago I saw it in TV again :P edit: about Yorkfield speeds, I agree with BrownTown... very very optimistic they are. We are talking about retail parts, with default vcore, with stock cooling etc This is a very different...

Does Conroe need the Windows XP Multiprocessor Patch?

It isn't a X2 problem. It is a winXP SP2 problem with potentially any multiprocessor systems in some situations: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=28&threadid=1707814&enterthread=y

    AMD demonstrates 4x4

Rahul Sood, founder and CTO of high-end system manufacturer VoodooPC, contends that AMD's multiprocessor platform is particularly well-suited to gamers because each CPU has its own dedicated memory. Serious game players have long avoided multitasking for fear of decreasing game performance, but...

    K8L not til 2008?????

And it doesn't disallow either a K8L to come on AM2 at the same time (mid 2007. The only official fimeframe from AMD for the first K8L parts).

    K8L not til 2008?????

It's important to read (and write from digitimes part) properly. Motherboards sources talk about K8L on AM3. AMD have stated K8L will be first with DDR2, and the only socket compatible for DDR2 is AM2. The rest is a miscomprehension from digitimes writer.

Conroe Vs FX-62 Benchmark - HKEPC

AMD Puts Pressure On Intel In PC Gaming With New Socket For Two Dual-Core Processors

well they use common desktop apps, where 1. graphic card is absolutely irrelevant and 2. I guess memory type is what Woodcrest uses and btw with these benches (rendering, audio encoding, video encoding) memory is basically irrelevant too.
