New HDD: Backup and Install suggestions?

Thanks :) Any suggestions on mirroring software? Something free would be great. I have seen a couple links to stuff like TwinDisk and wondering what others recommend?

New HDD: Backup and Install suggestions?

I just picked up a new HDD and am at a crossroads. I have 3 internal HDDs plus one external HDD: 1x 74GB WD Raptor (Currently primary drive; SATA or ATA; C: drive) 1x 80GB Maxtor (Currently a secondary drive; ATA; E: drive) 1x 320GB Seagate Barracuda (New Drive, un-installed; SATA) 1x...

New Small Form Factor: Input Request

Like what? I have looked at Micro-ATX, the main case I have looked at is the ASPIRE X-QPack-AL but read some negative comments on cooling and on worksmanship. I would definately be interested in reading about some other SFF products though.

New Small Form Factor: Input Request

Thanks for the input. I have found a XFX 6800GT for $284. That is about $120 more than the 6600GT (meaning ~$30 for the AGP setup with 6800GT< but more performance) I also found an X800 Pro ViVo for $250. I had heard these can be modded to 16 pipes often. Any feedback on that?

New Small Form Factor: Input Request

-I am going on a trip shortly and have been debating what to do. My old laptop cannot run PhotoShop CS, Macromedia Suite, and some of my other software. And my current system is far too big to travel with. And neither do I want to lug the best around OR risk damage to it. -I am not too...

    Abit IS7 + 4 DIMMs?

A friend has an Abit IS7 Motherboard (it has 4 DIMM slots although he is at work and does not know the exact version) and has 1GB (2 x 512MB) of Kingstone Hyper X (KHX3200ULK2/1G) which appears to be double sided memory. He wants to add 2 more 512MB of memory to arrive at a total of 2GB of...

    General LCD question: Defects? **PICTURES**

And that is why I told them why I was not paying return shipping. Even WORSE is they want to send me "REPAIRED" monitors. I paid $700 for 2 NEW monitors. Sending me refurbs is wrong. They came defective. Not one, but both. Since when is it right to make a customer pay for a...

    General LCD question: Defects? **PICTURES**

Yeah I am RMAing them... The problem is Chief is making me pay the return shipping (almost $30... every other RMA I have ever done the company paid for it) and I wont be receiving new ones for at least another 2 weeks :( Not really the way to treat someone who paid $700 for something and...

    General LCD question: Defects? **PICTURES**

Definately a defect. Did some more testing and it is REALLY bad in games, especially dark games (e.g. end level of HL2). Contact Chiefvalue, but I have to wait for a resonse. Anyone else have a return experience with Chief? How was it?

    General LCD question: Defects? **PICTURES**

I have checked the monitors this morning and the marks are still there. They look similar to the effect I get if I slightly depress my laptop LCD. The odd thing is that they appear on both monitors in almost the same places -- but in reverse. LCD 1 = 2 squarish marks on the right, one on...

    General LCD question: Defects? **PICTURES**

Not sure how to describe this, but I just got 2 LCDs and they appear to have areas on them where the color is NOT uniform. By this I mean that it appears that when you pan in a game or are looking at it it is almost like they are "depressed" and do not match color with the rest of the screen...

Zalman VF700 -- Loud BEEP w/ eVGA 6800GT ::SMOKE POOF::

    >:( I used a 2 pin jumper and I got a poof of smoke. No joke. :( I rechecked the cables and the molex connect was indeed not tight. (Must have come loose while trying to get in). So it posted, Windows booted... and now I turned it off. I am scared to turn it back on since I saw that...

I just installed a Zalman VF700cu onto my eVGA 6800GT. Everything was working fine before, but now I get a loud beep. I am guessing that since I unplugged the stock GPU fan (which is now an empty plug) because the Zalman hooks up to a 4prong that this is the problem. Any advice? Right now...

Why do mobos have 2 ethernet cards?

Some server farms offer dual LAN setups for larger servers that have large burstable bandwidth needs. This could also be used in a rack setup to allow machines direct access to eachother. e.g. if you have a web server and a SQL Server the second LAN could be used to hook them up directly. And...

    6bit Panels = 16.2M colors, not 16.7M, correct?

Yeah, I got the much. The question is how did they go from 16.2M with dithering (~200k real) to 16.7M colors? That 500k jump is more than it natively displays and is misleading because it indicates it is a 8bit, not a 6bit, panel. I should be getting mine soon, and will compare the colors...

    6bit Panels = 16.2M colors, not 16.7M, correct?

Quite a few posts in this Anandtech thread say it is 6bit: http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...&STARTPAGE=1&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear And While the manufacturer/retail info indicates 8bit, the review at THG indicates 6bit by calling it a 16.2M color display. I have no clue what it...

    6bit Panels = 16.2M colors, not 16.7M, correct?

The LCD Manufacturer has 16.7M: http://www.hyundaiq.com/pro_spec_l90d+.asp The people who sell it (Newegg, Chiefvalue, Tigerdirect) all say 16.7M also. So Toms very well could be correct, BUT my question then is: Is this false advertising? I had read that 6bit panels, with dithering...

    6bit Panels = 16.2M colors, not 16.7M, correct?

I am looking at the L90D+ 19" LCD from Hyundai. I am thinking of buying 2 of these TODAY. But I am a little confused... I THOUGHT it was an 8bit (24bit) panel because (a) Hyundia, Newegg, Chief, Tigerdirect, and so forth claim it is a 16.7M color panel and (b) the reviews state it has great...

HYUNDAI L90D+ back in stock at chiefvalue.com

All the sites I have been to (Hyundai, Newegg, Chiefvalue, Tigerdirect) state that this is a 16.7M color panel. If it was a 6bit it should be 16.2M? Is this false advertising then? I had read that if they are 6bit (i.e. 18bit) and not 8bit (24bit) they should be listed as 16.2M colors...

    Hyundai L90D+ -- Feedback request

After spending about an hour of reading on the furums it seems yes it will rotate. The manufacturer lists it as a 16.7M color display, so that should be 8bit (if not I will return it). The only other questions are: 1) The viewing angle: 150°(H) / 135°(V). Will this be fine in Portrait...

    LCD Gaming Monitor, Hyundai L90D+

    1) Does it tilt 90* into "letterhead" (3:4)? i.e. Longside Up-Down versus Left-Right? 2) How does it work with an Analog Signal? D-Sub-15 3) Does it dither or is it a 8bit panel? I ask because I am looking at getting one from newegg.com. I am thinking of getting 2 and putting them side...

    is amd 64 3200 enough?

I agree. And if I understand correctly, the 90nm 3200+ chips come from the same bins as the 3500+ (just different multiplier), so they should OC about the same. A lot of people are able to OC their 3200+ to 2.4GHz or higher (~ equal to a 3800+). Save the extra couple hundred bucks and get a...

Going quiet(er) Part 1. HSF Suggestions

I have been hearing a lot of mixed reviews on the Vantec 92mm Stealth. Mainly that the motor noise is a bit more than advertised. So I am looking at these options on a XP-90 or XP-120 (probably the 90 since trying to figure out if the 120 will fit is a pain): ? The Panaflow L1a 80mm...
