What you think of my system?

WRONG!!! Dual Channel means that if you have matched pairs, you will see an improvement in performance. You can absolutely run with 3 DIMMs. It's not something that is recommended because you will not see the performance boost of Dual Channel, but it can definitely be done...

Poll: Do you use a UPS?

Not only do I have a UPS on each of my systems at home, but I also have one on the home theatre equipment as well - that one is mostly for surges and brown-outs that can kill those electronics.

Set your MCE Workgroup to be the same as your domain, and set the local userid/password on the MCE machine to match the domain userid/password, and it'll do passthrough.

Best H/W Firewall for Home Office?

A friend who is in the medical field, and works out of her home is needing me to set up their network. She's on cable for access, and my thoughts were to go with a WatchGuard SOHO w/ wireless. Her pc will be wired to the firewall, but the kids' and husband's pc's will be wireless. Would this...

    psShutdown help, please.

They're not in on a Terminal Service session. They're logged onto the local workstation, while sitting in front of it. I want this to be an automatic log off based on a Scheduled Task that runs when their logon hours have expired.

    Server Service missing?

Strange one for you - on one of my Windows XP Pro, sp2, all updates through yesterdays flood machines, the Servier service is not even listed. It wreaks havoc on trying to use Computer Management - not to mention sharing is dead now. Any ideas on how I can re-register server (and what is the...

Ewww...multiple quotes...sorry guys... Microsoft software has had a large number of holes id'd. However - the reason for that is that it's on 85+% of the desktops worldwide, so it's a freakin' huge target. Note that now that Apple's OSX is moving up in the installed base, holes in it are...

    Server 2003 Force Logoff option

Sorry I did not make this clearer. The kids are playing games on their workstation. Even I do not use my server for any "regular" functions. The policy should log them off of the workstation at the expiration of their logon hours, but as has een said a few times...it is not consistent.
