For $10 AR, I couldn't resist. I currently have it in a CompUSA's Compaq SRX1710NX special purchased last week.
So far, no major problems. My only comment is that you will need a larger mid-size or larger case to make everything fit properly. The modular cables are quite stiff and big. I...
I bought a 15' HDMI cable and a HDMI/DVI converter for my TV/video cards. Seems to work ok although I'm working with Powerstrip to get it fit correctly. I can't compare quality since I don't want to shell out the $150 bucks they wanted at BB.
As someone mentioned, if the signal is digital...
I was able to fix my shutdown problem by performing:
1) Deleted and Recreated MIRROR RAID.
2) Extracted the RAID/IDE drivers from the nForce 5.1 package to a floppy when installing XP using the F6 option. I noticed that the floppy disk that came with the motherobard version is...
Anybody having Windows XP SP2 shutdown problem if they installed the IDE drivers from the Force_5.10 package? The Force_4.27 seems to work fine but I rather use the latest certified drivers.
This problems has been driving me crazy. I had to rebuild my brother-in-law PC and everytime I load...
I like AVG for several reason:
1) Will work on MS Server products.
2) Very Stable and unobtrusive compare to Norton's, Mcafee, or Micro-Trend.
3) Updates in v7.0 are now much smaller.
4) And or course, absolutely FREE for home users.
It looks like many products have had a history of...
I went to Sears 2 weeks to buy this set with the 10% special. However, my wife and I were very disappointed with the picture especially the narrow viewing angle which really means you need a stand for it (extra $100). My wife saw another set that caught her eyes, the Panasonic PT-53X54 for...
Bought two of the 500 series, and both had problems. You can't beat the price/feature ration but quality is lacking. Make sure you can easily return it.

Ooops,
Although they will fit in a 5.25" bay with the proper adapter, they are actually only 3.5" HDD. However, they are 1.6" tall. You will also need a SCA converter if your system doesn't support an 80 pin interface.

The range on this card wasn't any better than my old DLink DWL-650. Further, the signal strength indicator seems to be whack since it always shows a high signal else none at all. You can get this card at Microcente for 9.99AR.
Further, where is the 100mw information coming from? It...
Getting very crappy performance on a Gateway notebook running XP Home but works well on my Sony VAI running 2K. Notice an earlier Gateway user having some problems. Anybody else experience issues with this card?
Microcenter has them for $29.00 - $10.00 rebate = $19.99 + tax.
I bought one of these cards and noticed that the signal indicator doesn't seem to be working. It contantly shows 80-90% on link and signal quality no matter what even when PINGs fails. This also contradicts the site survey meter...
I would personally shy away from the SMC Wireless offering. My two 7004ABWR needs constant rebooting (buggy firmware?). I hear this from many SMC 7004ABWR and 7004VBWR owners. Further, from the amount of returns I saw at Micro-center (at least 1 dozen at any one time) many others are having a...
Other uses:
Picked up two of the Powerline AP ( SS2521) for 29.99 each sincing I was looking to experiment with it. Also, I wanted a CF card for my Casio E-125.
Anyways, installed the Linksys WFC11 drivers on my Casio E-125, plugged in the Siemen CF card. I had to tell it to use the...
Just grabbed 4. Thinking about grabbing more at this great price. I've already built 3 systems using this mobo with absolutely no problem. The price/reliability/feature can't be touch.
I can't see why anyone would complain about this mobo. I do recall reading some info where the original...
Outlooks network folders may help. See here:

You can find out about migration procedures at Microsoft.com. Installing W2K and Exchange isn't that tough ( 1 day task) once you have done it a couple of times. However, if you have never had any...
You can pinpoint the problem in 5 minutes by disabling your HDD (set to none in BIOS and/or pull power and IDE cable).
If it posts quicker, then you know you have some sort of HDD related probem.
If not, then you got some other issues. However, you saved yourself a lot of time.
I don't believe you have DNS setup correctly.
To test if this is an DNS issue, just update your hosts and lmhosts file on one of the W2K Client.
hosts format is (lmhost is similar)
x.x.x.x nameofserver
for example:
192.168.123.1 server1
look at the example hosts.sam and lmhosts in...
Definitely Win98SE. WinME just has more crap that can slow down your PC.
On some of my really old notebooks( compaq LTE P5-133 48MB), I actually use Win95OSR2 because I saw issues with the IDE drivers under Win98x. Linux seems to work pretty good too depending on what you are doing.
And the answer from Officemax:
I do apologize but there was error in our ad. There was a 40.00 instant
rebate and the mail in rebate was for 30.00. Please go ahead and submit the
rebate form and the rebate will be honored. Cendyne and Verbatim are the
same company. Thank you for choosing...
IronFar, no insult intended, just a typo.
I've used Partition commander in the past and I don't recall being force to install SC.
So you must consider many of the MS apps that gets installed with your OS junk too then?
Does the user manager in Windows XP allows you to change the profile path?
In W2K, I would go into Admin tools->Computer management-> User/groups-> User, right click a user and click the profile tab.
No problem. I prefer this method since:
1) I feel it's faster.
2) The "sourcepath" directory will be set to your installation directory so you won't get that annoying message "Please insert CD in drive x" message.
BTW: I still own a Compaq LTE 5300 which has the modular drive bay for either...
If's it like my E-125, it's the cradle USB interface that is slow. I get like a 10x increase when I transfer files directly to my CF card when it is plugged into my notebook then when I used MS ActiveSync.
why not just ask the vendor?
I have some older KVM switches that will not work at all with the newer usb stuff. A call to my vendor confirmed it. Unless they are lying and just wants to get rid of me:-)
Probably like what Horsepower said, not enable and/or drivers not installed.
From the large number of USB-parallel converter I've seen in the "return item" box at Microcenter, I would surmise they don't work too well.
