Just Bought My First HDTV; Odd Audio Problem

It was bad again last night and I was driven to the brink of (near) insanity. I decided to disconnect the TV and remove the back panel (which was connected only by screws; no "Warranty Voided" stickers). While I was working with the TV (laying face-down) I decided to turn it on and agitate...

Just Bought My First HDTV; Odd Audio Problem

Odd... I got home tonight and watched some TV and it wasn't making the noise right away. It started up a little later so I got up close to investigate. It seems that the sound is most present when the TV is experiencing any kind of movement; being jostled around or wiggles from the vibration...

Just Bought My First HDTV; Odd Audio Problem

You know what, I hadn't tried that yet. Simplest thing first, right? ;) I'll try that and I'll try the Xbox here a little later (via HDMI) and I'll report back. Thanks!

Just Bought My First HDTV; Odd Audio Problem

Evenin' everybody! So I finally broke down and bought myself an HDTV. This 37" Sharp Aquos to be exact. So far I like it alright. I had to fiddle with the colors and such for a little bit, but the standard TV looks good, which (quite frankly) surprises me. No, I haven't gotten a chance to...

My apologies. Yes, we're running Exchange 2003 SP 2.

Operating System within an operating system?

VMware makes a product called VMware Converter which, when run from a second PC, would allow you to create a virtual PC from that XP partition (as long as it's running). The problem is that the free version of the VMware Converter only allows you to Import, not export machines, and I don't know...

    Creating a Domain-Wide "Safe-Sender" Entry

Good day all, My company uses our ISP to do our "E-Marketing" for us. When they send out the monthly newsletters to our client-list, we also have them send each of us employees a copy as well. An issue popped up today where the newsletter was delivered to one of the "Big-wig's" "Junk...

    Virtual PC 2007 problem

Damn, that sucks. :( Truth be told, I like the way 2004 runs, anyway; I've had less network issues with that one. 2007 is nice though because you can run multiple VMs at once (I don't think you can with 2004).

    Virtual PC 2007 problem

2K4? Microsoft Virtual PC 2004. Yeah, first I'd just try to uninstall VPC 2K7, reboot, then try to reinstall it.

    unknown floppy disk image

I'm not downloading it either... :P What kind of file is the image? There are a ton of different apps to open certain image 'file-types'; .img, .ima, .iso...if it's any of those just seach for "App to open .xxx file types".

    VMware and Backups

I'm still planning on normal 'File-Level' backups (w/ Backup Exec agents, which yes Nothinman, they do suck and I'm not a huge Veritas fan since the Symantec purchase), but we would like to ALSO be able to taake a backup of the VM from a standpoint where I can start the VM on a different piece...

'Batch' Editing of Word & Excel Docs?

Good day folks, So I have another one for you all: does anyone know of a way to change a massive 'Batch' of Word and Excel files? What I'd like to do is to be able to do a large-scale 'sweep' of font & font-size changes to all these Word & Excel docs that sit on our one account server (they...

    VMware and Backups

Looks like a nice product; very similiar to Backup Exec System recovery (formerly 'Symantec Live State'; essentially the 'server' version of Ghost), but how would I run that, in the VMs? Have you used this one before?

    VMware and Backups

I know ESX runs on top of a Linux kernel, but I guess I didn't realize that it would be more 'intense' than just following a few pre-configured scripts, selecting different options and what-not for setup (then administering it from the 'console' on a seperate server). So I better get crackin'...

It does allow 'silent' monitoring (can disable the icon with a licensed version), but it forces an installation on the remote system. :(

    VMware and Backups

One thing I just read was that you can't run a 'Suspended' VM on a different server, but I couldn't find why. http://communities.vmware.com/message/407181 - second post (VMware employee, apparently)

Remote Desktop App That Doesn't Do A 'Client' Install

Remote assistance has too many steps; our users have pretty much been 'babied' for most of the time and requiring them to do the steps to use RA is too much. I looked into using 'Unsolicited' RA, but that requires the user to click OK twice, which defeats the purpose of being able to connect...

Here's what's funny - we're probably going to go to ESX within the next year (just a matter of time and planning). Remote Desktop App That Doesn't Do A 'Client' Install

Evening, So I started working at a new place a couple of months ago, and we use this remote desktop/support app called "Omniquad Instant Remote Control". In theory, it's pretty cool, but in practice it is pretty buggy and hasn't had a program update in a few years. What the app does is...

That sounds like an awful lot of work (not that I'm trying to be lazy or anything though). I actually used the converter while toying around with Backup Exec System Recovery (can take BESR 'Snapshots' and import them into VMware VMs; kinda neat). In essence, all I really need to do is make a...

    Exchange Trouble

I thought about that, but I'm seeing that there's also NetZero, Juno, and a couple others that aren't going through properly. Maybe they are all Time Warner, because yahoo.com and other 'direct' domains (like 'bank of america') appear to have connected properly too.
