Oh yeah I did unplug the power LED but not the HDD. I prefer to know visually if my system is on(when the monitor is not). No biggie. I can also put transparent red film over the light too. If light from your system is does not intrude into a place you want to be dark then this issue is moot...
I know this thread is old but I am going to add that I have very recently built and used systems with both the Define R4 and 550D. Keep in mind these are systems with Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H, 4770K, 2x8GB, and single GTX 760 card. One has Samsung SSD w/ 2x2TB RAID 1 array and other is Samsung SSD w/...
Just an FYI this series of laptops had a lot of problems. Do a google search and you'll see. A couple people I know have had to send theirs in twice for repairs.
I got this 2 weeks ago and promptly sent it back. It is horrible out of the box though after calibrating it is much better, it is still pretty poor overall. Since it is a big monitor the viewing angle issues of TN panels become even more noticeable. I was so horrified by the screen I splurged...
NwEgg's LCD return/dead pixel policy is of more concern than it being a TN panel, though TN panels are absolutely horrible. I swear, anyone who thinks a TN panel is ok for any except gaming must never have used one more than a few minutes... They are a horrible, horrible, display technology...
I don't get the humor. Everyone BUT the Patriots were talking about how great they were. Sure Brady scoffed at Burress' 17-14 prediction but that was AFTER Burress talked. As for the game, if WAS a fluke, as were most of the close games later in the season. The Patriots by far were the best...
I got mine last Fall and the darn thing has the blank screen on power up issue. I turn it on and it displays the screen for a moment and then goes blank. Repeating the power on cycle a dozen or so times finally gets me a viewable screen.. Anyone else have this issue?
Pretty sure that is incorrect. I don't think any 50" plasmas have that resolution. This one is 1366x768...typical of most plasmas, and is just fine for this size a screen.
I am not sure why being nearsighted would require glasses with this gizmo. I don't wear my glasses when using binoculars. I adjust the focus to match my eyes. I can see just fine when stuff is close to my eyes, in fact better than 99.9% of the world actually. That is why they call it NEAR...
Some complained about a buzz coming from the monitor. While I too noticed the buzz, part of that buzz was noise from the speaker amp. turn down the volume and it gets a lot quieter, even if you are not using the speaker.
So what do we do with this 7z file? Umm, ok it is an uncommon compression format. I decompressed it. Now what do we do with this .icc file and how?
Edit - ok install the "color applet" and install the color profile and associate it with themonitor. Can't seem to tell much of a...
Yes I have the buzz too. I had to stick my head close earlier today but now I can hear it from a few feet away. Lame...but what do you expect from a $300 24" LCD ?
Also for those of you who have the Ergotron NeoFlex Arm this monitor will work with it - barely. The Neoflex is designed for up to 20" LCDs and 18 pounds. I don't know what the Soyo is but if the arm joints are tightened really tight it will work, at least with the one on my desk - I have the...
Wait, you laughed because he got the Viewsonic and you got the Soyo?? You may want to hold off on those laughs. It may be a "better" monitor on paper and in iniial tests but the jury is still out on how long the thing lasts.. I got one too and have yet to hook it up, but I am not expecting...
You're more likely to get in bed with Paris Hilton than get killed on an amusement park ride. Well, then again with the people around here, it is probably the other way around..
How does a 2ms response time benefit "Anyone who works with graphics"? If anything that is bad because it means this isn't a true color panel but one of those 6-bit dithering ones. There is no question that "Anyone who works with graphics" wouldn't like this monitor when compared to good 8 bit...
Nobody has given a very simple explanation of how it all works so I will do it.
You have a book. There is a table of contents. You erase a section in the table of contents. The pages aren't deleted, just the section in the table of contents.
That is a really basic explanation.
If they had a version without them getting all naked on each other and without the scene in the Pentecostal church I'd buy it. Those two scenes were just wrong. The first because it was too difficult to bear. The second because, believe it or not, the Pentecostals are some of the most genuine...
resolution is not so much the issue with the memory here. The specific game is important. Games that cache LOTS of textures and such need more video mmeory. Quake IV is one I believe. There are tons of games at any resolution that are the same whether it is 320mb or 640mb..
The 8800GTS overall destroys the x1950XT, ad even the XTX.. There will be times when they are close, but overall it isn't even a contest.
Here is just one review for comparison.

Wait, is there not an option to toggle between 1:1, fill, and aspect like on the Dells? I agree, there are many occasions when I have my Dell not scale and just display the actual pixels.
I got a Dell 2005FPW widescreen in the summer of 2005. Over the past couple months I have noticed was appears to be a liquid like effect running down from the top of my monitor. It seems to be getting worse too.
I am on now with Dell and they say they will replace it, though with Dell it...
Beware of rebates. They are inherently designed to be forgotten, lost, stolen, or improperly submitted. I can't trust a company that uses such tactics, regardless of how reliable their rebates may be..
I don't really have the time to scour through all the posts, but how long after the registration do you get the free cd keys?
Reason is in Houston it is 8AM til 5PM. That's like 9 hours. In 9 hours I can make way more money than what a copy of Office Pro 2007 costs.. Not boasting about...
Well the help section mentions tabs, but there aren't any tabs. Tabs aren't next to each other, square, and the same color at the same time. I know this is the Forum script's design, but you gotta admit it is hard to find. Believe me I looked all over the place for 5 minutes. The design is...
Lol, I'd never think such a simple website would need a help button. Regardless, I've never had this issue before with another site. This particular function needs some work.
