    iPhone 3G 3.0 non-software SIM unlock?

Hey, guys, I'll be going to France in about a week and am wondering if anyone knows a MECHANICAL unlock out there so I can use a different SIM card. I'm trying to avoid software unlocks if at all possible because I'd rather not take the risk of bricking my phone. I recall that for version 2...

    Tablet PC Pen Tips

Anyone know where to buy these things? I have a Toshiba Portégé R400 model and when I called Toshiba, they told me I had to buy a new pen in order to get more tips. I said, fine and asked them the price. $65. My jaw hit the floor. For a PLASTIC pen with semi-magnetic tips?! They had to be...

Problems using Windows File Sharing over cable modem

Hey, guys, Recently I switched from DSL to cable, mostly on account that I was paying for a phone line I wasn't using, which added up to $25 extra per month plus taxes. One anomaly I seem to be experiencing is that I can no longer access my file share at my university over my cable...

    HTML problem with link colouring

This is more than likely REALLY easy to fix, but... At the bottom of this site: http://www.aisu.student.virginia.edu/, you see the UVa logo outlined in blue. This is because of the CSS style. Anyone have anyway they know of to override the <a> style just in the footer or for that one line? If...

KVM Switch for widescreen DVI montior

Do I need a special KVM switch in order to have a widescreen aspect ratio for a DVI widescreen monitor? Or can I get a standard KVM switch with a DVI port? Any recommendations for one that has USB ports (for a keyboard and mouse) and DVI in/out ports?

    Problems connecting to various websites

It's been a few days after Adelphia's repaired our line and I got a new router (due to a power surge,) but now I appear to have difficulty from accessing a few sites, namely Google and the University of Virginia websites. I can get to any other site on the Internet, like Facebook and such, but...

    WMP Video problems

Seems that whenever I use WMP to view a video of any type, the color is all off, kinda like the gamma setting is set way off the scale. All other stuff on my screen looks okay, it's just the video. Any recommendations?

    DVD Games and Region Codes

I plan to buy "The Sims 2" for a friend in France for Christmas (to practice his English, lol,) but I was wondering, do DVD versions of a game have regions marked on them? Or does this only apply to video DVDs?

Resizing images to different aspect ratios

I take pictures at very high resolutions (2560x1920). However, I have a widescreen monitor and the pictures become distorted when I make them my background. Does anyone know of a programme that will automatically resize a picture by shaving off a bit of the top and bottom? Thanks in advance.

    Locking wallpapers in Windows

Does anybody know if this is possible on a user end? LabCorp does it here, and I would like to know how to do this, for personal use. I'm sure it's an entry in the Registry somewhere, but I have no idea where. Please assume Win XP.

Remember that collection of AOL Trial CDs?

I recently found this site on the Internet: http://www.nomoreaolcds.com/ What they plan to do with such CDs is put them all in a truck and dump them on AOL's doorstep in Dulles, VA. Yeah, where I live. Booyah! I'd love to see this happen. I apologize if this has been posted before.

    Dell LCD 20inch 2000FP -- same as NEC 2080UX?

I've heard from a couple sources that the Dell 2000FP (don't know about the 2001FP) is actually the 2080UX made by NEC. Anyone else hear this?

    n00b nVIDIA buyer

Today I decided that I'm going to give nVIDIA's GeForce 6800 Ultra (AGP) a chance. I've been buying ATi for pretty much ten years and have been happy with them until recently when I discovered that the Radeon X800 XT PE (Platinum Edition) is pretty much not available anywhere. I noticed...

    Airplane power adapter

I will be making a 15-hour trip to Hawai'i at the end of the month and I would like to take my notebook computer. Obviously, it won't have enough power for the entire journey, so I am in search of a power adapter to plug into the odd outlet. This is in the First Class Cabin of United Airlines...

    Windows Media Player CD-Text Support?

Anyone know if WMP supports the CD-Text feature? If so, can I burn CDs with CD-Text info on them? I'm trying to burn all my music from now on with CD-Text support, so receommendations for other programmes (ex. Nero) are accepted. Please just remember to tell me how to turn on CD-Text...

    Compressing MPEG Files

Right now I have an MPEG file on my hard drive that is two hours long and about 7.04GB. Can someone please recommend a programme to me that will compress the MPEG so that I may put it on a DVD? Preferably I would like a Freeware tool. Built-in burning features are also preferable. Though, in...
