How do you know if your cpu is bottlenecking the video card or the video card bottlenecking the cpu ?? im confused, i have a64 3000+6600gt is this bottlenecked?

I am going to get me new computer this new year and my targets are
Athlon64 3000+(939socket) and nForce4,K8t890
But i have just seen the Athlon64 3000+(754socket) DTR that has 1MB Cache so i am confusing now which one is better the 754 DTR or the 939?
is my system is ok...
